Stern Metallica Remake(?) Discussion

Col is in on the new LE and is intending to sell his loaded HUO prem with the UV kit and UV artblades, give him a shout before he lists elsewhere as it’s a stunner!
I was utterly wasted at that gig. We started drinking on the train about 8am.
Absolutely no memory of seeing a lot of the earlier bands.
One of my friends went off for a pee and came back wearing a totally different t shirt. To this day she has zero idea about how she exchanged it. Given the new shirt was some dreadful skull/metal band thing we can only assume she made a lasting memory on a random teenage boy.
Another guy we were with had a really thick girlfriend who kept asking who “Big Day Out” were and why they were headling over Metallica.
I remember Marilyn Manson being really amateur.
Metallica were great and I was right down the front for that.

Got to play it today at the Stern Army Party after seeing it with John Borg at the factory earlier. LE looks stunning and was fun to play but unlikely to cash in my Pro vault and upgrade.
Wonder how it will be gameplay wise.

Did we all want new code? I know it's layered onto the old but Lyman balanced that code and adding new modes and features will change the scoring balance. Would people rather just have the old game with new visuals?

Was thinking the same and would be an additional concern buying blind.
Imagine paying LE money only to find the old one is better experience.
Moving from 4 ball to 6 will definitely change the MB gameplay. MET is one of those games that you can aim your shots during MB. Don’t want to feel like I’m flailing.
I’ve grown to love the humour, call outs, DMD visuals and sound FX on my OG premium.
I wonder if that harmony will be lost in the new one.
Hard to say without real gameplay experience.

The Sparky multi-ball intro at 7:30 was a little underwhelming, but less waiting time, so I guess that’s a thing.
I’m also amazed they’ve emulated the poor LED handling of the SAM board set. On/off blinky inserts, no smoothing… at least not so far…
All-in this is great for anyone who hasn’t been able to own and/or play the original. It’s not the Metallica game I personally want though, and I’m no band fanboy.
A TRON remaster might push me over the edge though.

Animation is time consuming and becomes expensive. Each one of those 3D assets has to be modelled, rigged, skinned, textured and lit before they can even be animated. Besides, I like the tour footage!
What are the geometry improvements?

There are various interviews on the new version, the one from Zach Sharpe I think mentions some tweaks to the ramps and millimetre movement of shots.

I enquired about an LE but left it too late.
In this video Borg says they did a Metallica Vault in 2017. I didn't know this, and I can't seem to find more info on it.
On the original in the video you see some cool lit up side rails and on the upper glass strip. Is this the 2017 vault edition?

It was just a rerun of the original with the newer metal back box and LEDs. Mine’s a 2017 run. That lit metalwork is a mod.

The "Vault" version is the Pro / Premium LED version with the metal back box
I'm surprised more original Metallica's haven't come up for sale yet? Thought the market would be flooded with them after the announcement of the remastered one.
