Finally made it over to Funland last night to check out the LE. Great layout and some really satisfying shots. Got on the high score list with 202 million but most of the points seemed to come from stacking the sentinel and to me my x-men multiballs twice over. Code seems early but it definitely has potential. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want one.
 
So I'm assuming unless incorrect parts were used this is either a build issue where washers,. nuts and bolts have been installed wrong, or a possible alignment problem.

Guess we'll wait for the fix announcement.
 
Had my first session on it today in Tilt. Fun game. It seems like quite a precise game with tight ramps. Good when you get into a flow.

The one thing I thought was the modes all felt quite similar, this might be down to early code or the fact I havent fully learnt it.

Either way, really enjoyed it. Wouldnt mind having one at home one day 😁
 
Didn't have any issues with the few games I played at Expo. Could it be the ball guides in the shooter lane. Played someone else's Rush at the weekend and had a few issues with ball launches rattling at the end of the shooter lane and dropping back down to the plunger, never had that happen on my own one in the year I've had it.

Will be interesting to see what the fix kit is.

As you hold the button down the shot it will affect roams across the playfield from left to right so you can select which shot Bishop will complete for you when you let the button go. I think that's right.
I’m not keen on how the bishop button works, I only really feel safe using it if I’m trapped up. Also learnt you can waste it on an unlit shot if your timing is off!

That is probably what I was doing...
 
Mines improved by pushing the suggested guide out a bit but still not great. It’s annoying but doesn’t ruin the game for me.

Found the shots more now and learnt the bounces and really enjoying the layout. The repeatable shots are crazy, think I looped that shot to the left of the sentinel 8 times once 🤣 Shot to left of left ramp also fun to repeat. You’ll need a repeatable shot for the 4th future mode, went on forever!

Now I know the rules a bit better, looking at the rules map that was on pinside makes more sense. It doesn’t look like there will be a lot more depth just a couple of wizard modes. I’m fine with that as it’s not as long a player as GZ, Bond etc. Still plenty of polish to do, simple stuff like mb and mode shot colours being the same.

Happy with my choice on a pro, the hands on the prem/le are cool but the fun is really in the flow I think and the hands take away from that.

Has anyone tried the ‘come to Gambit, Gambit is ready for you!’ line on their other half yet? Substituting your name in but still in the Gambit voice…🤣
 
I've also realised that the metal at the bottom above Kitty Pryde is not fully glued to the playfield.
Does anyone else have this?

That’s not meant to be glued. Should just naturally sit flush with the playfield.
 
My latest stats after a good few plays at the weekend and this week etc. Holding steady around 78%. Not sure if there is anything i can check on this one to see if it will help others down at 35% ish. Let me know

I've installed mirror blades today and although tight, they were fine and look awesome!
Fitted mirror blades in mine too, incredibly tight, like zero gap. I've fitted mirror blades in loads of machines but never seen a playfield as tight in the cab as this.

Happy X-Men X-Mas!

-Added Skill shot and Double skill shot from a short plunge, past the gate out of the shooter lane.
Previous skill shots are now "Left Flipper Skill Shots".
-Added "Giant Sentinel Head" lifetime achievement.
-Added "Escape Nimrod" start and completed achievements.
-Added new graphics for UI health bar text.
-Updated Future X-Men perks messages and titles.
-Updated "Save The City Multiball" to have slide-in info when making progress.
-Updated speaker light shows.
-Updated game light shows.
-Updated mission rules for "Mayhem in Midtown". Hitting targets next to City Locations will light
up those locations for awards. This change better reflects the theme of the mission.
-Updated mission rules for "Smuggled Cargo" for clarity. Now, one pair of shots, representing a
blocking car, will be available as an enhanced perfect shot. This is denoted by a purle, faster
blinking insert.
-Modified Gambit pop bumper rule where the 2X bonus no longer stacks. Once it's available,
players must use it before earning another one. Hitting the pop bumper through the return lane
will automatically make the Gambit 2x award available.
-Fixed an issue in "Save The City Multiball" so the "Save The City" insert stayed lit on the
playfield while the multiball was running.
-Fixed an issue in Beast Lab where the first level 3 award was not awarding an Extra Ball.
-Fixed an issue where double flipping cancelled all queued up events with mission starts.
Now players will be able to cancel them one at a time.
 
How are people finding this game?

Is it as good as the hype or like most games, does it have any flaws?
I think it's great. Having a great time with it, much more enjoyable for me than the jaws pro i had.

Reminds me of dead pool alot and the flow in the ramps and shots is outstanding

Layout is addicting, code needs work but that’s normal for this early in a games release. Future mode can get a bit tedious to me, not sure it needs to be every 2 modes.

I don’t think it’s going to be a deep rule set but not sure it needs to be, it’s really the layout that keeps me pushing start.

I thought the playfield art looked too busy in photos but I think it’s really good in person.
 
One thing with the new update, i don't like the skill shot changes. Having to hold the left flipper in for the usual 3 skill shot options is annoying as if you forget to do it, you have no options..
 
I rarely go for the skill shots anymore as they don’t (or didnt in .88 haven’t checked on .89) extend the ball save so I just go for midtown to start qualifying the first mode
 
I mostly try to go for the x-jet/danger room Skillshot to try to level up the danger room quickly while the ball save is on. Danger room level boosts mode and multiball scoring. Of course this mostly backfires as I drain out of the danger room shortly after the ball save has expired 😅.

Out of interest has anyone ever designed a skill shot where both buttons have to be held in 😱😱😱😆

I swear my danger room has got more dangerous! I use to get out quite easily but not at the moment…well I can get out, just not in the direction I want
