X Men - and apparently people like it. (and me too now :))

Twisted so the new piece is over the bottom screw that wasn't removed? I'll have a play with it some more but there wasn't a lot of wiggle room with it needing it go round the hex post, line up with the top screw hole you remove and re add and needing to go the correct side of the metal guide
Yes, twisted it so it's sorta half covering that screw that wasn't removed. It was the only way I could open the gap up for the ball.

Moved the piece around a bit more, tried several different positions, unfortunately it’s made no difference to the auto plunge. Not much else I can try really, guess I’ll just have to be happy with the good manual plunge

I haven't installed mine yet... and I'm wondering if I should as my % is 50-50 on manual and auto.
Are you guys getting a ball-hop on the left flipper, and if you are, is there anything that can fix it?... or we need to wait for another Stern Kit?

I installed just the spring and seemed to initially be 100% on auto plunge but later was less reliable.

So then installed the ball guide by flipper and seems worse it anything! Not done the 3rd fix higher up playfied yet.

Why would changing the spring affect the auto plunge, it's just for the manual plunge isn't it?
Yes. The only thing I can think of is the playfield has been lifted and maybe not back in exactly the same place. Saying that my playfield is very tight in the cab, even tighter now with mirror blades. One other thing, is the ball sat nicely on the auto plunger wings? ,i.e. not being held forward by the shooter rod runner tip.

Every time the ball is returned to left flipper I hold it up and most of the time it traps up nicely, occasionally it’ll be too fast and I’ll have to do a little tip over to the right flipper. I never shoot on the fly from left flipper though.

Does yours flipper hop when you try to trap?

The left flipper always hops. It does it so much that when I then play another game I expect it to do it too, and feels odd that it doesn't! Too fast.

How's everyone's shooter lane now? Mine has actually got worse again, I'm fed up of messing with it now and just putting up with it.

I was at almost 100% manual, 0% auto after installing the fix kit. I adjusted it a bit and auto has improved but manual has got slightly worse. Just leaving it now, could tinker with it forever but I don't think it'll ever stay consistent. Bit of a shame as I was hopeful the kit would fix it but it doesn't ruin the game, hopefully future potential buyers will feel the same.

Same

Its a pain in multi ball as they drain out during auto plunge so you got to be on the ball

Just listening to the Pinball Show podcast, Zac said "Shooter lane fix kits all shipped, easy to install and they are working perfectly".

What is Pinside saying about it?

Yeah I laughed when I heard that comment. Pinside is just pages and pages of people moaning about the issues with the shooter lane and the code being so naff, and a few standing up for stern saying the code will be great and their shooter lane is fine.

Want me to bring my chainsaws Sunday Kev? I’m sure we can ‘fix’ it😂
Really annoying problem, how do they release these things with obvious issues like this.
Frustrating I’m sure.

Silly comment from Zac when it seems the kit hasn't fix anything for the majority or even made it worse.

I do think it's all been blown a bit out of proportion and imperfect auto launches isn't a new thing on sterns but to pretend the kit has been a universal success is just lying.

The main problem on my machine is balls not getting out of the shooter lane cleanly, if it does it's fine and makes it all the way around but for some reason it just won't shoot straight a lot of the time, and there's too many obstacle on the left side of the lane, posts, edge of pop bumper, 2 non return gates, the edge of the inlane/outlane guide etc and the ramp that goes overhead is pretty low so any deflection and all power is lost. The ball sits perfectly on the autoplunger wings, and the manual plunger tip is central. The groove in the shooter lane is short compared to a lot of my other sterns here which doesn't help ( it has to be because they're using it as an outlane too and the groove would probably be an issue if it was longer when balls exiting that way). Awful design.

The machine in Funland has developed this problem with the left ramp sentinel finger.

I thought the other balls would clear it but they all just ended up stuck there.

I played it last weekend and it was exactly the same. Unfortunately ball search won’t move his finger and after a while just decides the ball is lost. Such a shame because apart from that the game plays fairly good.

I would assume that the pro model plays better and has less issues because it doesn't have the mechs.

Pros in general have fewer issues and flow better because of fewer mechs, whether they play better is down to personal preferences. I believe the launch issue is across all versions.

There's a long list of Premium/LE mechs that have been problematic. I don't even own an X-Men but these issues are frustrating me and definitely put me off being an early adopter of future releases, along with the lackluster code.

Does anyone know if the left side finger is currently used as a ball lock?

I mean that would be the obvious thing to do if it isn't in the code yet.

Another obvious thing would be to drop the finger during a ball search.

A bit like the dragon not moving for ball search in D&D. All easily fixable, just oversights in early code.

I still think this game once the code is complete will be amazing.

It was obviously released to early where it got bumped forward in the queue.

Yes hopefully. It feels like they are over stretching themselves over there, too many releases to support.
