Who Fancies a New MM?

PINBALL MACHINES BALLY WILLIAMS STERN ADDAMS MONSTER TWILIGHT MEDIEVAL CACTUS | eBay

Failed to make £4300, changing times indeed, there was a time about 3 weeks ago :p where this would have sold for sure, the 8K MM is back up on ebay with a slightly more reserved starting price of 5K, I get the feeling that the MM bubble is bursting.

Confusing ad. Shows an MM, then states they have more for sale. What am I buying for my £4300? An MM, or 300 'other' pins?...Doesn't help that its also located in Italy. A quick relist stating EXACTLY whats for sale, the condition and the shipping would see much more interest.

The 8K MM that's back up started at £0.99. And you can bet it will be pulled 12 hours from the end when he doesn't get anywhere near the coin he wants.

Now that is the intresting thing, I can confirm that there has been an explosion of pinball interest in Italy in the last 3 months, it's as if they have all discovered pinball at once, (well from my end), if you can't sell a MM in Italy at the moment for £4300 then there is something going on, add to that Germany, Spain, France and other EU countries which have a lot of wealthy collectors.

Nahh... the auction was that unclear.... It was "hinting" of an MM for 4.3k, however also hinted that everything else was also 4.3k IMO, so im not reading too much into that.

Personally until they are actually released, i'm not expecting to see any price changes in them, and because of technology i'm then not expecting much of a change after release either.....

How long before we start seeing the original MMs showing up on eBay as people start worrying about getting the best value for their original machine? Surely with these new ones at this price the days of £5k refurbed machines must be numbered......
Number 3 is already up on ebay in as many weeks, seems like the heave ho has started, this may trickle through to other titles that may be on the PP hit list, have comfort in knowing that your Gilligans Island will still be worth £500 in 10 years time and will be unaffected by the remake frenzy.

Think the new one is very interesting. Looks great quality. Guess we'll find out if people are willing to pay more for an original one than a remake.

The one on ebay has already passed what I'd be willing to pay...but it is super mint. If a decent one comes up around the 5k mark I might just be interested. Wishful thinking at the minute, but once the new ones start shipping, who knows where the price will go? Fingers crossed.

sorry just realised you were referring to the new one on ebay, just spotted it.......keep 'em coming

So there we have it. At least one person is willing to bid 5K for it. Get that auction sniping software ready. LOL.

At least pretty sure it will go the distance. Roger is a totally stand up guy and there won't be any shenanigans with this auction.
Think Rus meant the other one, the one that comes back more than a Status Quo end of the road tour.

If Roger's MM goes the distance with nil shilling, dopey non-payers or sado's who have no funds but just like to take part anyway!, then I think it would be sound. Roger would not necessarily benefit from this excercise but the pre-order MM punters may feel good /bad about the test as it develops next Sunday. I personally like the old way... Private sale/market price/money changes hands/smiles all round.... Reckon around the 6.5k ;)

that's just greedy, must have been planning on cornering the market before the MMR announcement.

I'm not sure there will be a huge drop in the future value of original MM's?

Not everyone visits forums, reads pinball news etc. so not everyone will know about the MM rebuilds. Also look at TAF. Kick a bin and 2 of them will fall out, yet they are still fetching £3-4k!

The pinball enthusiasts might not be up for paying money like that, but there is number of people who won't think twice about dropping that kind of money.

I think they will still fetch good money but the days of people paying silly money for ropey examples is over, notice the owners that were sitting on these as a cash cow are now cashing in, not that they didn't before, don't think the sale of any other title has resulted is so many dirty tricks by both buyer and seller, glad the remake is here.

The remake may also have a knock on effect on other related items, i.e playfields, would you now consider shelling out £750+ for a new playfield to restore one of these if you recently forked out 5-6k on the machine itself? before it was viable, now it is probably not.

Yeah, I don't think there will be either. Not for high end restored ones anyway. In the States there is because they were selling for thousands more than the price of a NIB MMr. But that is not the case over here. And given the choice between a super minty refurb and a remake I still think a lot of people would want the original.

Roger's seriously nice MM only made £5600 (this was obviously a straight auction with no shilling or dodgy stuff going on) I think 6 weeks ago this would have made 6.5k, don't know why anyone would bid up to 7.5k or whatever the other one made.

Sitting on the fence... Think that when people start spending over 2k, they generally start looking in depth (they may tecnically, not know much!)....And 99% of people who pay over 2k for a pin, are enthusiats...or at least enthusiastic!...Tap into the net anything these days and a 1000 items come up about it..so they will know about the new MM... if there interested in spending the price of a nice secondhand car!

Good point, I did plenty of homework on prices before buying my first pin, doubt that many newbies are going to go straight in on a MM with its price tag when the TZ is so much cheaper and readily available.

True TZ's just as good..but in a different way!.. But, (like 1st girlfriends!)... we all have a soft spot for our first pin!

Bad timing I think. Theres been a huge amount of top end pins selling on ebay lately. I can imagine people umming and ahhing over what to buy.

I just cant trick myself into thinking its a good idea to blow that kind of money on a used pin. Good luck to those that can.
