Who Fancies a New MM?

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAP...trksid=p2047675.l2564&rt=nc&item=251448944180

Best offer of 4k, looks like cast iron proof that the MM bubble has now officially burst with owners having to take what's on the table, keep or relist with lower expectations, before the announcement of the remake this would have been snapped up for the asking price within an hour.

As much as anything else just getting 3 serious offers is hopefully a sign of a real cool off in the market. Loads of machines seem to be getting no interest at the moment, not even low ball offers. 4k seems a fair deal for a 20 year old machine, maybe the "investors" have now bailed. Our friends at PP also seem very quiet at the moment. Now how long is it going to take for the NIB market to fail? 6.5k for a machine....... Is there a limited Mustang edition? If so is the theme and play strong enough to pull this price off? Sooner or later a new machine is going to stiff badly and people will question the prices being asked.

I wonder what it went for in the end, anyone here know?

With luck we can return to where we were a year ago, and MM can join the few other 90s titles valued at 4K - ie AFM, MB, CC and possibly a couple of others. There's no sensible reason for any one title to rise above that leading pack of AA listers.

OK some newer games can command more, but only because they're new. In ten years will Tron be worth more than AFM? I doubt it but nobody knows. Or cares. We're all players here, not investors

This seller, of the MM in Boston, is always buying machines to flip/sell for a quick buck so maybe good that it didn't sell for what he wanted? btw it was bought just after Christmas from the guy in Sheffield who was selling a few machines and think he is on here so he might tell us what it initially sold for?

In that case he hasn't been totally truthful about it. It's a nice machine but with wrinkled cab artwork around the legs and back of the playfield.

Who offered £500!?

I'm a little surprised that so many people were willing to buy a new MM from an unproven company (especially
with those dodgy looking boards attached to the pf) but aren't willing to buy an original for £5500

6.5K for a NIB is silly money IMO and a sure fire way to loose a big lump of £££ and quick (just like a new car), I can't imagine throwing 6.5k on any machine let alone one that has never been played which could turn out to be a lemon but that is just me, MM was the cash cow for so many and was exploited to the max @ parting time, it's refreshing to see that it is no longer a must have item regardless of cost.

To be fair he did state he hasn't had it long. He's the guy who bought Chris b's TOTAN not so long ago and sold it after a couple of months for the same price.

Think he must get bored of the machines quickly.

I asked him about MM at the beginning of January and he wanted 6k.

To be fair, as someone said on here (May well have been you!!) at the moment looks like, whilst the bubble hasnt necessarilly burst, there seems to be a lull in the take up of any machines post Christmas....

Which has to be good for the hobby. Pinball machines are there to be played/abused and are not 10k ornaments of ego.

Nah he's in it for the squids or he has the attention span of a Lemur :) MM was listed for sale on another pin site not long after he got it!!

Just my 2p worth but I have dealt with this guy quite a few times over the years. I have bought 1 game from him and he has bought 3 from me. He is a very nice chap and definitely not a trader/flipper. He just gets bored of games very quickly (as do I quite often!) and switches his lineup around a lot. I sold him a TSPP which he kept for well over a year before he moved it on and he still has my TFTC to this day. So he doesn't flip everything super fast.

He always said he wanted a MM one day and, like many, I bet when he finally got one he probably thought.... well, it's good but did I really just drop 6K on this one game!!?

Think it's just a case of everyone is paranoid of eBay for pins because there is so many pp type sellers so the good guys end up getting tarred with the same brush which is a big shame

Everyone who buys pinballs always sell them on for more than they paid for them that's what I have noticed anyway

i won't say never, but i try to mostly sell for what i paid.

exceptions: either i had it a long time and the market has gone crazy; or i got it for an absolute steal from a friend as they owed me a favour (in which case half of any profit difference is theirs); or i bought a load of stuff for it that increased its value. but in the last 3 years i probably sold about 15 pins, and overall i lost money as i don't try to claim back the £85 delivery costs from the new owner.

i will be selling a few at the Slam, and you can rest assured that my asking price will be higher than they are worth, but that's cos half the people there will be strangers to me, and i always expect people to make an offer so i hope we end up at what i wanted anyway. if i want 750 and ask 750 then i will end up getting 700. but if i ask 900 then i will probably get my 750 back, and may even make some beer money. pins at shows tend to be priced to haggle. on ebay they are priced way high. from dealers, waaaay too high as that is their job. on here and on the yahoo group they tend to be priced fairly.

i bought the totan off him, collected at his house , seems a genuine chap, young with a family,he bought the MM at almost the same time as buying the totan so he couldn`t justify the outlay of both machines, and one had to go, he still has the tftc and some nice arcade cabs, i can`t say i looked at the MM to much as i`ve got one, i don`t see any high price pins selling at the moment on ebay

Yup, MM was getting touted at 8k not that long ago, what a **** take, this is why its nice to see it on its side, Feb is generally a strong month for pinball with sales climbing through to March, don't think that timing had anything to do with the MM 4k offer, the value of this title has been completely reset over night with a 1000+ BNIB machines coming on to the market and the option to buy BNIB for less than routed machines were making a year ago.

Don't know why this guy is being singled out either, let's have a list of long term pinball owners that have never sold a machine @ a profit (flipped if you want to call it that unless someone has rules and guidelines as to the timeframe which a machine should be held for before it is no longer classed as flipping, see how ridiculous this sounds) bet it would be a very short list of names.

Did a few posts get deleted? Mine and Fintan's are missing from about 5 posts up though neither was contentious.

Or was there another server blip?

Huh? What just happened? They are back.

My stupid brain is on the blink again or tapatalk is playing silly buggers.

Has anybody preordered mm from pinball heaven I sent them a email but no reply also does anybody no what the payment plan would be thanks

Phone Phil at PH direct and have a chat with him, he will be able to answer all your questions about the MM project.

The LE's have sold out, but I think you can get on the waiting list.

The deposit was 1k with the other 5.5k due when the machines start to ship, expected to be around June/July (wishful thinking!).

A few have dropped out of the LE preorders and I bet there will be more when the final payment is due.

Don't think PPS are making the Standard edition until the end of the year.

As far as I was aware, you paid the £1000 deposit and the rest was due when the game was ready to ship.
