The "How much is this table worth" thread....

Whilst some want peachy.... I'll take a rougher one so long as there's no playfield wear. Same goes for a Waterworld. Add 'another' Gottlieb System 80B to that list too. I want another project. :)

So, gonna sell my BK2K. Dan gets first dibs as he asked first, but want a quick sense check on the price, I think £800 is fair but maybe more/less? I bought it a couple of years ago from someone who had it in their 'games room' which was more or less a full pub-sized bar next to their indoor swimming pool. It hadn't been played in some years and didn't work as a ball was "stuck somewhere". Turned out a wire had come off the VUK, then it was all good.

I removed the upper playfield mylar (no paint lift) as it had a bubble so big that the ball would hang up. The letter 'N' on the top right lane insert is gone, common on these machines as that's the one that gets bashed when the ball gets launched. Lower playfield mylar still in place - a little bubbly, playfield looks mint underneath. All plastics intact, underneath playfield is clean enough to eat off.

Cab sides no fade really, the head sides are faded. Couple of marks to the cab but pretty good.

Boards in the back are original (serial numbers match), display is original and nice and bright. MPU has no corrosiion, nice and shiny, looks like it might have a had a near miss in the past though as someone added a couple of wires to the battery holder.

Backglass is pretty good, but does have a tiny bit of lifting and a little touchup on the back.
I've attached a zip file with a bunch of pictures in - they make it look a little tattier than it is in real life, hate that flash! It could do with a bit of a clean and a rerubber, but it plays great and is one of the nicest condition BK2Ks I've seen.

£800 sound reasonable? Dan?

I've got a Strange Science machine in the garage which is no longer working - on power on, it gets to the 7th flash on the 6803 Board and stops.
The casing is a bit old and the chrome a bit rusted, internals look OK and back glass is fine. It was wrapped up in Polythene for the last 10 years.

It has the original manual, keyboard and neon strip tube on top

I need the space back so, it has to go, unfortunately. any help on value would be appreciated.

Someone else can handle the price question as I am not the best person.
As I am local, I am happy to pop over and take a look to see if we can't work out the issue, though I don't have much experience with 80's machines.

I would say a working SSc with neon topper 600ish. So non booter like yrs gonna be less considering may need board work, functionality of displays unknown ? etc

I sold a worker without the neon for 500 about a year ago

Calimori - Thanks that would be great, I haven't attempted to do anything with the board, apart from make sure the CPU's were seated and connections all good. The last time I used a soldering iron was at School. It also still has original battery on it (no leaks)

GrizZ - thanks for the feedback, when it last worked, all displays were OK, and sound, etc.but that was a while back now. Of course, not working is the big thing.

I guess you have two options. Try to get it working or just sell as is.

If it 'has to go', personally I'd take a price where no-one gets ripped off. Ie the buyer knows the faults and unknowns but equally you get a price where you don't feel ripped.

My mind is thinking that is someone came, gave you cash and drove away with it the price would be roughly £300. I think everyone would get something out of that price.

Thanks for the post.
Even 500 leaves me at a massive loss. I would part out before taking 400 after all ive spent on it.
550 ono was what I have started to think. Its that or ebay it in bits?

Appreciate that something is worth what someone is willing to pay though.
