sorry but I couldn't let it go for that, too many parts thrown at it etc. Thanks for the valuation. I just thought I would try here before other methods of getting some of my investment back.

Could trade a machine with me?

Personally I would stick it on eBay projects always seem to go for loopy money on there.

Ebay is your friend in this scenario :) You've probably got more in the game than it's worth so a Freddy fan who can fix pins is going to be your best bet. Just bear in mind that the number of people who want to restore a Gotty sys3 game is going to be limited so unfortunately you might take a hit on this one.

In terms of parting out, can't say I agree with that for a complete and repairable game but also the number of people looking for sys3 parts isn't going to be massive. As Nick says, think your best off trying to shift this as a project for someone.

Deff going to take a hit thats for sure :(

Would like to trade it for another pin so there is something in it for both parties.

I agree parting it out should be the very last resort, Thats for sure.

How about sending the MPU for repair?
As above I am finished with sys3, Even if it worked I would part with it. I have spent so much that I have to cut it loose now.
Maybe there is a fault somewhere else and the MPU could be damaged again etc?

Its my ability + cost + risk + real world = isn't going to cut the mustard.

Appreciate your points of view however I could spend more getting it working and lose even more in the long run.
Sometimes being honest with yourself and knowing when enough is enough is the best solution.

I will use the space for something else.

Someone who knows the sys3 may want this, so its up for sale.

Good to know it stays in one piece.
There are few enough of these machines, let's not make it anymore.

Currently have the bug to buy a transformers pinball, was wondering what would be a realistic price as I have rarely seen 1 come up for sale!

The eBay seller becki_small who was selling the Tron last week has a transformers pro for sale. It's not on eBay yet. Said he/she wanted £2950 for it. I guess they would take less if you contact them before it goes on eBay. I believe @todler knows them and lives very close so may be worth contacting him. Seller says it's in fantastic condition ( don't they always  ).

How much is a fair condition LOTR worth ( like the one currently on eBay that's been there a while )

For me, LOTR is a £2.5K to £3K game depending on condition.

Not too sure on Transformers but @SOUTH COAST SLAM has a lovely TF Combo I'm sure he'd be happy to sell you ;) He'll tell you it's a keeper but don't believe him :D

Thought that it would have been sold by now but maybe everybody has heard about quality of some of his machines?
Actually my Ripleys came from the same guy via Neil F and it's in great shape. Neil did do just a little bit to it, fixed a sticky flipper and a few switches but other than that it's very good.

Does the guy have much bad feedback then? I know there was the one machine where the earth braid was hacked up but I don't think I've heard other horror stories?

if it's that Tobin guy in Hove then maybe you could ask @GrizZ to go and give it the once over and tell you what it's actually worth. maybe some of his games are good and worth the asking price, but i'd never buy sight unseen from anyone who sold the TOM with ****ed up boards and missing coils and hacked earth braid and broken everything and even rusty balls in it. sure, if it's worth the money then give the guy another chance, but don't trust to luck, not after that.

i'd buy from Sarah or Rocky or Pinball Paradise for the right price, but to know the right price i'd have to have eyeballs on it, or know and trust someone that has had eyeballs on it first. i buy sight unseen on instinct all the time from people on here i don't know (and of course from people i know and trust), so for me that's pretty extreme. but rep has to count for something.
