The "How much is this table worth" thread....

I'd say 2.5k - 3k depending on quality and worth every penny. Possibly the one machine that people still pay top whack for even if it's shagged. Suspect it's because it's really still the main pin for non pinheads. Fantastic examples can go for about £50 more than very tired ones.

I'm thinking of changing and upgrading my pinballs. I've got two to sell, maybe after the South Coast Slam (which I'm hoping will help me choose what next to buy)

If I do sell I'd prefer to offer them here first before they go ebay.

I have little idea what to ask for them so can anyone advise please?

1. Time Machine:

Cosmetically I would assume it's "good for it's age". Cab has some black paint knocked off the edges. Very little wear to playfield. Backglass one small patch of paint (think it got rubbed off with a badly mounted screw to display) but not noticeable. One small plastic broken. Covers to flashers are loose but that doesn't seem to matter. Brand new legs.

To me - and to visitors - it looks and sounds pretty good.

Mechanically it has been fairly reliable for the last 4 or so years I've had it - one or two transitors replaced by me and the soldering ain't pretty but, hey-ho, it's OK. Boards last serviced by Andy Netherwood. Only minus is switches on outside ramps don't always fire though the machine does always pass self-tests. Apart from those occasional switch misses it's 100%. Good strong flippers etc. It's very clean and tidy inside.

Big plus is it's got a brand new Rottendog display board.

2. The Wiggler:

Yes, The Wiggler that featured in the Shop Logs.

What to say about this beauty! I never really did get very far with it. If I offer it the photos will show a smart looking machine - but only from a distance. Backglass has flaking along the top although this is in a dark and unlit area and really is unnoticeable. Playfield badly worn. Cab repainted but no attempt to follow the original - it looks fine but not authentic. Chrome not bad - coin door resprayed and looks great.

Mechanically this machine had been badly neglected. It's dirty inside. Even so, like the Time Machine it gets played every day and we keep it working 100% without too much trouble. While I had it apart I ran a proper earth cable to legs, lock down bar and coin door.

It's a simple, fun, 4-player EM with 3-ball multi-ball.

So, can anyone help with what I should be asking please?

I guess it's another table where, although it's not very good, the theme extends beyond just pinball.

Gottlieb Waterworld. Never played one, vids on YT look OK. Actually liked the film.... unlike many.

So, how much and opinions? No past UK sales on Pinpedia.

Ta.

Never played one either mate. Never seen one in the flesh. But I think it was Gaz Pound selling one on eBay for ages with no takers think it was about £1300?? Not sure if it's still on.

It's one of those machines that the film is way better than the pin. Usually tends to be whichever is best the other is pants.
Price wise it's rare that means you will pay more than it's worth. Personally I would not want to pay more than a grand.
And I would be wanting to sell for the same soon after.
Jamie B had one, I think he still has it, worth a ask.

Cheers both. Don't see one on Ebay at moment. Doesn't seem to get much love anyway.... maybe best waiting till one appears at a show, sounds quite a plunge (!) otherwise.

I tend to use visual pinball to get a feel for machines I've never played, on the whole (assuming the author did a good job) they give you a pretty good idea.

Whilst on this era of Gottlieb, price of a Stargate? Realise don't come up often. Have played this one and really enjoyed it at the Slam. Space themes rule on pins IMO. :)

Stargate and waterworld are on there, I will download them and see if they work right.

FWIW, Richard at megazone (I think you know him?) has a Stargate in storage.

Thanks Carl. Don't think I know Richard.... you know a website, email? Ta.

Stargate works on Visual Pinball but the Waterworld recreation is kind of crappy, maybe just as well watching videos off Youtube.

Only contact I have is through Facebook (Morecambe Megazone) he might be up for selling but you don't know until you ask, worth visiting the place as he has a BSD and AFM on 50p/play.

Unlike most people I have actually played Waterworld. Did I like it ? Yes but then I'm a bit of a Gottlieb fan boy according to some on here. :D I suppose IJ4 is similar in some ways because of holding balls for multiball then dumping them on to the playfield. Pricewise I'd say it's a £600-£800 machine but unless it was minty (not ebay mint) then you could double that figure. Problem is playfield wear - both the one Gaz Pound and our hove fiend had on ebay had it in abundance hence them not selling easily.

Stargate is a cracking machine. I liked it so much I owned 2 for quite a while. Price wise I'd say £800-£1500 depending on condition and how desperate to sell/buy.

Pete knows Stargate well thus his valuation is spot on in my book but it would have to be real peachy for the £1500 price tag.

I would like a Stargate for myself but a peachy one has not surfaced as yet.
If you have a peachy one then get in touch.
But it must be really nice in fact better than peachy.
