Stern Ghostbusters

I really like the music and DMD animations for Spook Central :D Jim, are their different wizard modes tied to capturing ghosts and completing modes?

Yeah i'm totally addicted to going for spook central mode every time at the mo!! The music is from the film and seriously cool!!!

Yes there is a different 'wizard mode' for both game play achievements. 100 ghosts caught gets you the 'mass hysteria mutliball' with the reversed flippers. Completing all 9 modes/scenes gets you 'we're ready to believe you' wizard mode

I'm just glad i managed to record one of my decent games ;) !!

Can you change the order the modes are played as I've seen the Spooked Librarian one in a lot of vids so am guessing this is the first one lit?

There are 3 sets of modes, like act 1, 2 & 3. You can start any act you like, but you have to move through the modes in the act chronologically and you have to complete each one before moving to the next. When a mode ends you can choose to start a different act next time, or continue through the same act

At least this looks easy enough - I have to do this when my TWD arrives. I can't tell you how tired I am of doing it with Williams games.

All downstairs in the basement now. These spike system games are slot easier to move. The wiring is seriously reduced. Everything is slot lighter compared with Sam system games.

The reduced weight and wiring, plus the ease of getting the playfield completely out (just need to desolder the 2 sub wires on my GoT to do this) means the brave can move a Spike machine up and down the stairs solo in 3 pieces without too much trouble.

And those sling brackets do come in handy for working on stuff :)

Anyone know whether spike games still have high power coin door interlock switches? My ghostbusters doesn't have one. Bit strange unless it's now done some other way

Just got to 'the ballroom' on the central ramp mode set. Third mode in on there. Almost completed, just 1 shot remaining i think from memory. Think i got an extra ball lit for completing the previous 2 modes as well.

Is anybody else finding Ghostbusters a real hard game ? I know I am new to the hobby, but playing my other pins I can make a game last a good 15 minutes and get most of the features.
Ghostbusters seems so hard to get the 3 balls on the left to light storage felicity, sometimes I get close, but then lose a ball and you have to start again.
Also should the Scoleri Brothers pop ups go down first time when hit ? If I hit the left target full blast it does not go down and I tend to lose the ball as it then flies straight over the flippers, so not sure if these need a few hits or if I need to adjust this drop target.
Many Thanks

Drops should always drop on 1st hit but stern ones seem to have a problem. Its the same on star trek. Usually adjusting the spring tension can fix the issue.

I'll let you know in a few days as mine has left Phil, but I brought this to build while I wait!

You can also alter the height of the machine. On stern's the front and rear legs should be fully wound in with adjustments only to level the machine as necessary. If your's is set up like that then it's time to change the software settings (reduce anything set to hard down to medium or easy) until you get the hang of the game a bit better...

I've found that once you've played it for 100-150 games or so it starts to calm down. I noticed quite a lot of spin on the ball around the outlines to begin with. On mine (with factory settings) its 2 hits to the library captive ball to lite lock (storage facility) and i find that ok.

Thnks for the tips, I did try setting the machine up different by winding the back legs out, but I thought this cant be right as the tilt weight was then just hanging on the front of the tilt ring, so I think your right about the leg set up, so have put it back with all legs in and bubble between the lines.
I will get the playfield up and adjust the drop target as Im losing a ball when I hit the left one 9 times out of 10 as it comes back with such force in the air, right target works fine, sometimes the left will go down if I just skim the side of the target.
And the software is set to very easy ! and 5 balls ! or a game was lasting 2 minutes, if the ball is not in flight going over the flippers then is going down the out lane, but its early days and will stick with it :)

Spoke to Cliffy today. GB shooter lane protectors are in the works, but not available yet. Definitely going to be needed
