Stern Ghostbusters

I asked Dead Flip in his stream 2 nights ago if he's going to Stern to do a GB LE / Prem stream, he said "mayyyyyyyyybe".

Apparently he announced last night he is doing one on 4th May. Can't wait to see slimmer, ecto goggles, other ramp and proper magna slings vid.

Hype Train is back on track.

I'm seriously enjoying my ghostbusters pro. Its one of the best games i've played in a long time. The spike system is really well done and the amounts of quotes (proper film ones) is outstanding
 
Another good go on gb tonight. Got the library modes competed. Great animations in each mode. Amazing the amount of graphics detail in this game. Every mode has loads of hand drawn greatness and this is v0.9 !
 
What am I seeing here? Is the incoming mains rectified to DC before it goes to the switch mode power supply? It looks like mains is going onto this board

Mains inputs into both the switched mode supply and the board on the left. The output of the switched mode supply (48vdc) inputs back into the board on the left as well. I think this is a filter and power interconnect board, but not 100% sure yet. I love learning new system setups. The switched mode supply looks like an off the shelf job.
 
It would be good if stern would upload the v1.0 code that USA games got sent out with. We ukers are on v0.9

Asking the USA guys if they can make a backup for us to use :)

PINBALL GAME SOFTWARE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

1) Download the latest code for your game by visiting
http://www.sternpinball.com/game-code
and following the links to the software update
file for your specific game model.
2) Place game software update file (GAMENAME-VERSION.spk)
into the root directory of a blank FAT32-formatted USB flash drive.
Do not place more than one .spk files at a time in the root directory
of the USB flash drive.
3) Use backbox power switch to turn off game.
4) Plug the USB flash drive into a CPU board USB connector at CN20 or CN21.
5) Turn the game on.
6) The game will automatically begin the software update and the following
message will be displayed: "APPLYING UPDATE PLEASE WAIT".
IMPORTANT: DO NOT turn the pinball machine off while this message
is displayed. This message may remain on the screen a long period of time.
7) When the display indicates "UPDATE COMPLETE", turn the game off.
8) Remove the USB flash drive from the CPU board.
9) Turn the game on to play pinball!

many ghost are needed for extra ball.

Fixes:
- Updated to Node 0.18.2 to fix flipper issues
- Fixed how the 3-ball captive ball counts locked balls. It
will no longer be complete after only 2 balls locked.

Tweaks:
- Completing Scoleri Brothers now lights 3X Super Jackpots
instead of 1X.
- Scoleri Brothers now only give one ghost during multiball
and if you have >= 80 caught ghost.
- Reduced how many ghost are caught from slimer during
Storage Facility Multiball
- Completing all the jackpots in Storage Facility will now
Light Super Jackpot for 3X instead of 1X.
- Increased the scores for Storage Facility jackpots
- Increased the scores for Mass Hysteria jackpots
- Terror Dog Hurry up now increases its value on both the
Terror Dog target and Gozer Target
- The Captive Ball toggles the flipper control from reversed
to normal and back.
- Adjusted the default high scores (lower)

- Add time was sometimes showing 0 seconds added.
- Removed erroneous service messages for switches that are not broken.

Tweaks:
- Skill shot is split on the flippers now. The left flipper will only move the
upper lanes and the right flipper will only move the lower skill shot
choices.

- Added adjustment to all the game to start automatically when
you insert credits.
- Added Bonus Held to the possible pop-bumper awards
- Added some Easter Eggs. To do a basic Easter Egg you hold in both flippers
then you enter a sequence of numbers/letters. To enter one
number/letter you hit the left flipper button X times counting as you
go. When you reach the number/letter you need stop and hit the right
flipper button once. When you are all done you need to hit the right
button one more time. For example to enter code 3 3 3 (or C C C) you
would hold in both flippers then LLL R LLL R LLL R R.
- Added Game credits Easter Egg ( 1 2 3 )

Fixes:
- In only one stage of Storage facility was lit, and not the last stage, the
ball would not be diverted correctly.

Tweaks:
- Default Skill shot for lower half is now the right orbit
- Default Skill shot for the top lanes is now the left lane (E)
- The ramp exit will now award the right ramp if neither ramp
is already taking credit for the shot.
- Stopped ghost capture during Mass Hysteria Multiball. The point of capturing
ghost was to get to Mass Hysteria Multiball. Capturing resumes once the
Multiball is over.

Pffft. Where's the sense of achievement ? You haven't lived until you've tried a dozen times to burn an EPROM and keep getting an error. :cuckoo:

I have not done that sort of thing for around 15 years and nothing to do with pinball, we used to modify Laser Disk players and then DVD players, was all clever stuff, but I am too old for that now, USB in and out, took 5 mins all done :)

Awesome I have just downloaded it ready for tommor, not meaning to sound totally stupid did you just use a dongle style flash drive? And is it easy to format to fat32, I'm useless with computers! Thanks
 
I just updated TWD and GB at the same time, GB 10x the size but updated 10x quicker!

Nice GB update. Scores seem higher. Right ramp counts even if only last switch is made is a welcome fix.
