Stern Ghostbusters

Playing the updated pro I'm pretty sure the light show looks even better now at the start of storage facility, plus much more shaker action and improved dots.

Awesome I have just downloaded it ready for tommor, not meaning to sound totally stupid did you just use a dongle style flash drive? And is it easy to format to fat32, I'm useless with computers! Thanks

Yes any USB stick will do as long as its over 1GB, after you plug it in the PC you will see a new drive letter in My Computer or the name of the USB drive, just right click on that and you will see the Format and then the option to select FAT32

So relieved and excited after that deadflip video. Roll on June

Magnaslings look like they can be pretty much off, act like normal slings and go crazy too. Good fun and don't ruin the game!

Slimer motion is cool, fun shot to make,

Ecto Goggles, though you couldn't see much and I only saw one ghost looks better than I thought it would.

New subway and ramps layouts are fast and cool.

Rule updates look comprehensive.

Best video clip of the ecto goggles is here:

Buzzing!

:)

what's a fat 32?

FAT32 is a type of computer file system architecture which basically means how data is stored and retrieved on a computer. It stands for File Allocation Table and the 32 means its the 32bit version (there's also FAT12 and FAT16 that are older).

It's proper old as it first came into being in the late 70's for how data is structured on floppy disks but was then used on pretty much all hard drives for computers in the 80's and early/mid 90's as its simple and doesn't break easily

Hmmmm, the update instructions for new spike games seem 'interesting' and there's no way to backup your existing code system. A clone of the entire SD card first methinks. The update file doesn't appear to include the entire game system either, so if the sd card does get corrupt and there's no cloned backup, its a call to stern to send you a new one! $$$$$ Can't help but think what we will be discussing about spike systems in 10-15 years time!

Safety First!

Fat32 is only 20 years old.. But otherwise close enough for Dan who is probably asleep reading this anyhow

Definitely close enough, I didn't understand a word of it

I'm wide awake and bored sat at the airport without any alcohol. Thinking of making a thread dedicated to Slash and his wonderful guitar riffs, I already did some googling and have over a hundred recommended tracks including loads I never heard before so I have some important research to do, then you can expect this from me some day soon.

Anyway back to Stern GB, I haven't played one yet and don't expect to get the chance for ages. These days we are so spoilt for choice with lots of new machines, it can be years before I ever get to play on some of the newer titles.

Welcome to come play mine anytime if you are up in the Leeds area Dan. Not a problem

Hi dan don't think I'm to far away from you just of the m4 in Woodley your welcome to pop over and try out gb was thinking arrange a few people over soon

Time for another session on gb tonight now i have the v1.04 update installed. A bit sad all my high scores have gone. Wish there was an option to say keep or erase hs data.

Also, i now have a full cloned image for my gb sd card should anything happen in the future to the card itself. Also this could help out others potentially to. Interesting that they are using Sandisk 4gb cards. These are well regarded cards adenines used a lot in modern linux based embedded systems. Guess they learnt lessons early on about cheap cards.

Awesome! Rc is robocop I'm afraid as I said I now have a weird collection but love the ones I have left, think ghostbusters is worth loosing some pins for though, but that Flipper gap on gb is brutal!

Anyone noticed issues with the slimer bash toy responsiveness with the v1.04 code? After updating, my slimer didn't respond at all well to flipper smacks! I've gone back to v0.9. Also the sound, speech and music levels don't seem as good in the later code and seem to clash more and what is going on with the new shaded dmd font. Not a good choice.

Glad i had my backup. Plugged in alternative card and I'm back to glorious v0.9 with all my high scores and slimer working perfectly again. It even reflashed the node boards to

Have you tried repostioning the slimer suspension wire Jim? On pinside they recommend this for improving slimer responsiveness. Not sure if mine isn't as sensitive as before, I do get missed shots but a good square shot always registers.

Wish I had tried the first version I updated straight away, I was thinking the same with my slimer he registers well with a big hit but little ones not so much, was this better on the 0.9 version? It's still awesome though, I moved the cable to the middle as the have done on pinside but no different, with the shaker it's great when you hit slimer and captive balls the machine rocks!

It worked perfectly in v0.9 every time and in v1.04 it was total ****. That tells me the software has messed it up. Also tried in test mode with v1.04 and worked perfectly to

If you want to try v0.9 again then i can sort you out a new sd card

Did some more silly mods today, flipper armour made from gb vinyls, topper with leds and plate, loving the game still struggle with down the Ctr, plus my wife just got the high score on her first go and she hates pinball!
