Pinball Brothers - Queen

So it's not Freddie Mercury singing if they're recent concert recordings?

@AlanJ - you licence the song and not the
i understand live versions cost less as just the songwriters to pay whereas the studio recorded version incurs an additional payment to the record company. hence why you see loads of these music tv shows that show live versions of all the artists they feature.

^^^ Imagine no Freddie 😬😬
Playfield doesn’t look too bad,

TV is different

You will notice these tracks prob have been taken from Live at Wembley which is also an album too.

Queen stuff now is released via Virgin.

Also the songwriters/band can sign away the shares for use in a product like this.

It wont be Adam Lambert live versions. Unless someone is particularly stupid.

If ever there was a game to get aftermarket decals and translite for, it's this! Even a close likeness of just the greatest hits artwork work have been better. I'll reserve judgement on if its a good enough game to warrant the effort until i've played it but can't help looking at this and feeling disappointed.

Am I right in thinking there are no gameplay videos yet?

I am a huge Queen fan so would be interested but the few photos really don't convince me. The cabinet art on both models looks pretty poor, not the quality of art you would assume comes with a Queen product. I like the idea of live versions of songs, more so if it's the Queen at Wembley. I can see how that would work well for a game...

I always thought I would be dropping cash straight away on a Queen pin but right now I am half in and half out... Maybe a good gameplay video showing off the machine might change my mind?!

It's the picture that sucked. Tons of banding.

They recorded the whole show on magnetic tape and the sound system was so frickin loud the vibrations picked up on the video tape heads!!

Works for Stern, Spooky etc 😆

It "worked" for spooky. I doubt it will again after the fail that Halloween is. Same for JJP with Turd Story 4 and in fact I'd say it failed for JJP given you can still get a CE if you want one.

Stern always show a game very early on; unless you want an LE there is no rush to put money down. Rush LE's and LZ LEs still widely available.

Speaks for itself....

LZ and Rush are superb games; the theme on the latter isn't great but the game is superb with some strong rules. Halloween is available new cheaper than spooky are selling it as people try to get out of it; same for Turd Story.

Cheers,
Neil.

LZ is one of the few sterns i really enjoy but i don't think it's a popular title generally speaking?

As for rush, theme is everything, and that thing is drollll.

no its not a popular game for home use I think with the prices of games; and you get a game like Godzilla, everyone is putting their money into that. can't blame them as its brilliant.

I looked at changing the music on Rush but its so integrated into the game its very difficult. Real shame because the game play and shots on it are very good. it is Xmen like which I love.

Heard Scooby Doo is the next Spooky- I can’t see them doing another gameplay stream before general sale as the theme is popular in the states and will probably sell well regardless. Halloween looked interesting but that music…..eesh!

However @strobey have seen a remastered copy in 4K and it is epic.

Done by a friend on his mac. It is not hard with good software.

Two other pro shot films exist on this tour Budapest and another one (cant think).... These are filmed and not video'ed.

On the sound quality - the pin will sound good - PB use the same amps I do in Vpins, and Alien did sound good. The game itself... no comment.

Before this thread carries on with Neil telling us how good Stern's Rush and LZ is - this is not really about that.

The art on this game makes Rush look amazing. That is the main reason I did not buy.

Would love to know the numbers of Alien that PB have sold. Limiting a PB game to 1000 is making me think it wont sell out

Market for this game is UK, not USA (Queen are not popular there really) - Japan (nobody has any room for a pin) - Some of Europe.

Also who put 'Who Wants to Live Forever' on a pin. Next up will be an Extreme pinball with More Than Words on loop.

The guy who did the art must of accidentally found photos of a rubbish Queen tribute band.

Now I pretty much loathe Queen. Always viewed them as a naff novelty band which may well be due to being slightly too young for them (in the same way Rod Stewart was the guy Kenny Everett took the **** out of and Tina Turner was an embarrassing granny)

However, even I think it’s pushing it though to say that they weren’t a big deal in the US. Allegedly they sold over 38 million albums sold there (the best of album did 9 million in its own right).

Mind you this pin looks absolutely shockingly bad. It’s hard to imagine that there wasn’t a better artwork package that could have been agreed on.

Regarding spooky and Scooby Doo. I’ve always been surprised it’s not been a theme for Stern. Lots of potential spinning walls and slides combined with a theme that’s stood up for years.

I think the reason I like LZ is because the music flows with the pin so well. Getting a Whole Lotta Love's instrumental going in multiball just with the addition of booms and crashes as shots are made makes you feel invincible. Really feel like you're blowing up the game.

If Queen can do the same thing let's say with May's tape-loop solo then maybe it'll have some legs.

That whole segment gives me goosebumps.

Agree on the art. Even a G.Hits 2 cover art for the translight would be an improvement. Matte gold trims and lockdown to boot and it could look really sharp.

@johnwhitfield - I read your post and did a quick bit of google research. Every album up until the last 5 sold more in the USA than the UK. Which shocked me! Of course the USA is a much bigger country but they did shift quite a few million.

Still doesnt change the fact the artwork alone on this game looks like a 15 year olds art project (apologies to the good 15 year old artists!).
