Hi Johnny
Welcome aboard
Welcome aboard
Just joined recently so though I would say hello. Have 4 machines Gorgar (just gone into Sean Pinball Palace for fixing), Pinbot, BOP and Jack Bot, which I am sure most will think weird!!! I am a bit obsessive compulsive and wanted to complete the set of 3 In time will be acquiring TOM and CV but that will be a while away, as got bit carried away last 12 months and did over 10k on upright video cabs, had a lovely collection (Dedicated QBert, Dig Dug, Rolling Thunder, Mario Bros, Stern Scramble, Joust, Pac Man, Donkey Kong etc)after restoring many and woke up one day and realised I had lost it completely, so decided to part with the collection and just kept the pins and a xevious video (needs renovating and an air hockey table which I could do with getting shot of.
Have just ordered replacement toughened glass for all the pins from my pall who owns a window company, £8.50 a sheet was a bargain methinks!!!
Bought couple of mods for my BOP from Judge Dread last week, what a great guy to deal with and good mods.
I am based in Kent if anyone fancies hooking up.
Welcome to the herd. I too have a Pinbot. Great game.
As is Rolling Thunder
Hi, I'm John from from Yelverton near Plymouth, Devon.
I'm a retired software engineer - so well wrinkly - but when I was young pinball was the only game in town.
I love the game and finally bought a Williams Tri Zone which was brilliant until it broke beyond my ability to repair.
I now have an EM Bally Hi-Deal and a Data East Time Machine, both of which meet my idea of a pin:- short, fast (3-ball) games aiming for best score rather than lots of missions, modes and toys. It's an age thing I suppose.
I have also bought a hopelessly beaten-up Bally The Wiggler as a project I'm working on with my youngest son. The Wiggler rates low on the IPDB but as an EM with 3-ball multi-ball and Zipper-Flippers we can't wait to play it. If we ever achieve a decent restoration I'd love to post some pics showing off our brilliance!
I doubt he would mind supplying me more but I am along way from you mate, so not sure how you would get them.I'll pay double per sheet if he fancies selling a few more!!!
Welcome to the Mad house. Bate's Motel as some call it, Hotel California as others say. Pinball. You can check out any time you like - but you can never "leave"
Hi ya John,Hi - again!
I did pop by and say hello but I still keep getting nagged to do it again. Maybe I chose the wrong words or my avatar was too boring, or maybe I shouldn't have tried to get a response during the Pinball Party!
Anyway, I've drawn myself a new avatar - this one's a bit more dramatic - and I'll try again.
I'm John, a wrinkly from near Plymouth, Devon. I own an EM Bally Hi-Deal, and a Data East Time machine. I love playing modern machines but somehow the older pins still win for me with quick fast games (I always set to 3-ball), and with the simple aim of getting best score.
My youngest son and I bought a seriously beaten up Bally The Wiggler. £144 was way too much I think, but we've had huge fun getting it fully working and as an EM with 3 ball Multi-Ball and Zipper Flippers it's certainly a different experience.
Sadly the cosmetic challenge (very gouged playfield and hideously hand painted cabinet) has pretty well beaten us, and we thought that bit would be easy! Live and learn I suppose.
We haven't worked out what to do with it yet. It's in the my garage right now. We enjoy playing it but no way I'm bringing something that ugly into my games room.
We'll probably sell it on in a few weeks, for spares I fear though it would be great if someone was keen enough to restore it. If I do decide to sell it I'll offer it here first, then ebay.
In the meantime I'm still looking for another pin. Probably another cheap EM.
Actively looking for an AFM project to work on and restore. An Addam's Family would be nice too, but i'm not a millionaire.
Welcome to the Madhouse David
Surely it would be the funhouse?
