New members - say hello right here : )

Will is a top bloke and when I found out he was a photographer I had him take my official wedding photos (help fund his pinball habit). Most of us know him, he is part of the Slam team who organise an epic show.
The machines that come out of his Dream Garage have looked like good examples. He sold his previous Shadow to make way for this one and that one was good so this one should be lovely.
The Shadow is quite a good machine, it deserves higher ratings that a lot of trophy pins. I haven't owned one so can't tell you what it is like after prolonged play but don't worry, you won't only have one, it is impossible, more will arrive even if divorce is threatened. ;)

Welcome

Yeah you needed to be more specific with Wills sale, he has a reputation for selling 'keepers' a few weeks after buying them

From what I've heard his shadow is immaculate though so should serve you well. The Shadow is on my list of wanted machines, have to sell a few first to make room for new ones though

Cheers
Ian

I have seen and played on Wills Shadow quite a few times. You seriously wont find a better one.....*if* its the machine you want. TS is well respected but as with all games , some people don't care for it. And I would probably say its not for beginners or casual guests as its quite a challenging playfield layout. I think its ace and Will will regret selling it :D

Sgt GrizZ (SCS team, 101st South Coast Pin Cavalry, South Coast Pin Mafia, SCTOMA etc etc )

Thanks for the replies.:)
After reading through the forum for a while i had kinda gathered that Will was well respected but it always better to be safe than sorry.
As for the machine, it looks immaculate, but im a total newbie to all this so second opinions are welcome.

@ GrizZ,i'd much sooner the game be hard and take some learning than have an easy one which i would get bored of but many thanks for the input.

My pinball days were years ago, mainly pub machines so memories are hazy but the ones that stick in my mind are,in no particular order,Hook,Adams family, lethal Weapon and Fish Tales, loved them all so just love pinball in general really, although some of this may have been down to copious amounts of lager.

I suppose what im trying to say is i've got sod all clue what i'm doing and all help on picking a machine welcome.:D
Cheers,Nick.

Yep .....like a lot of us, those were the DMD games of the time that we cut our teeth on - loads of those titles around. I L*O*V*E the DMD games 1991-95 soooooooooooooo much. I'm gonna go play TAF and FT right now :D

Welcome to the forum Nick, where abouts in the country are you?

As replicas has already said, Will is a top man so buy with confidence. The Shadow is an awesome game IMO, one of my favourites :) There's plenty to do with some cool toys/features, it plays fast and can be bastard hard. It's also got one of the best wizard modes in pinball. Will's Shadow is one of, if not the best in the country in terms of condition so if you want a top end example of a game then it's definitely one to go for.

Hi ronsplooter.
Im up in Nottingham and although Will has very generously invited me down to view the machine it isn't really going to happen.
I have sent him a message regarding his game and await his reply.

I would just like to say that although i belong to a few forums,im a keen mountain biker,i very rarely post as i don't need the abuse, this seems to be a very friendly site. You need a thumbs up smiley.

Please excuse my posts tonight if they are not making a lot of sense and my spelling is crap but i blame an unexpexted visit to the pub tonight due to the sun actually shinning.:D

Cheers(ironic???) Nick.

Im up in Nottingham

Me too, I'm in Beeston.....another Nottingham pinhead :) Whilst I always advise viewing a game before buying, your in safe hands if your going to buy from Will.

Thanks for that ronsplooter, very reassuring(sp)when dealing with figures we're talking about.:)

Ahhh you guys are great :)
Expected at least a few sarcastic comments maybe grizz hasn't moved onto the spirits yet ;)

Cheers you crazy kids and the ultimate keeper of all time could be finding a new home and I will have to pay Andy that tenner I bet him danm it :p

Welcome to the group Nick.
That Shadow that Will is selling speaks for itself in the pictures, you will not find a nicer one , its as good as brand new. A little expensive for a Shadow but where are you going to find a nicer one ? Its as good as new thus the price. I think its spot on price wise, if you are local to Will then go and have a few games and drool over the nicest Shadow I have ever seen.
Good luck in whatever you decide.

A word of warning though. Being on this forum will make you buy a Pin.

I only joined in April with a view to doing some research and as I write this I'm awaiting my first delivery from Martin the delivery man. It doesn't help when people keep posting pictures of some lovely Pinballs and Calimori is tempting me by showing just how many you can squeeze into the kitchen.... ;)

Hi all I'm Daz from Grimsby & just thought i'd best introduce myself and say hi. I've just purchased my first pin for the family after many weeks of searching . Purchased it of cooldan and looking forward to getting the real thing. I built a hyperpin machine with visual pinball a while back and the misses & kids decided they wanted the real thing so purchased a Surf 'n Safari to get us going. Can't wait for Martin to deliver next week. Hopefully 1 or 2 more pins to come in the future :) Great site btw.

Welcome Daz - from a fellow Grimbarian. ;)

I'm relatively new to the world of Pinball but the one thing I can say with certainty is that it's massively addictive. I only really have the room for 1 Pin right now but it still doesn't put me off scouring the adverts and eBay and punishing myself. My argument is that now i've got one i've got the ideal argument for a dedicated games room or garage conversion when we hopefully come to move in a few years time.

There ya go Daz, I thought there'd probably be locals to you. Welcome aboard! Loads of guys here bought a first game in the last year so you're in good company.

You'll be looking for no 2 and then no 3 before long, like everyone else. It's a madness, a sickness I tells ya.

Hello All,

I am Tony and hail from West Malling in Kent, 46, and loved pinball machines since i was a lad and followed my older brother around arcades in Blackpool. I loved the noise more than anything at that age,
moving along I have just bought 2 pins from a member here, Vector and Gameshow.
Myself and 2 kids have been playing gameshow for the last 2 nights and loved every minute.
I also have 8 arcade machines and another pinball , which i have had 7 years but had to put into storage when i moved and now no longer wants to play ball, but am looking forward to trying to fix it with the help of this community

Hi Tony
And welcome to the madness.
Whats the title of the machine that does not want to play ball anymore ?
Plenty of knowledgable people who can give you the help you will need to get the machine back up and running. Just let us know whats wrong in the tec. section.

D.
