JJP GNR Pinball

Problem is : the holes are too big in the PF
The posts are not the problem, they are ‘off the shelf’ item.
Can’t see them manufacturer a special GnR post for this Playfield.
They will have to make some sort of sleeve or insert into the hole.

Maybe source some small silicone/metal washers, remove post and put these over the thread to “build up”the thickness in the hole?

It’s nothing unusual with that kind of post see pics from a junk yard I have just done most post do that with a t nut style mounting
As said best way would be to put a longer thread post on it with a bush and a nyloc nut on but a tight post can be just as bad as a slack one
They must be a reason they use that type of mountain there

Easy. Longer threads on the post. Nylock nut on the bottom. Small metal washer on playfield first. And nut lock.
Not enough thread on the existing posts !
You could try and find a metal sleeve to go inside hole too.

I wonder if JJP realised this was the issue at some stage and started installing correct diameter and length posts to fix it. I guess when they turn up will be first thing to check.

Mmm, these things usually need some coaxing with a mallet.
I was thinking squeeze and ease ,but now after talking to my engineering mate , thinking of getting him to turn some correct sized posts on his lathe he says reasonably easy job ,they will be perfect fit and no change to the playfield. Same as williams ones so longer but with no thread in plywood and a tight fit in the hole

Looks like a group order will be on the cards for replacement posts.

I doubt JJP will issue free posts at the minimum to all owners.

I’m sure amongst all the reports I’ve seen some people were saying they received games with different longer posts that had nuts….I’ll try and find it

Every post has a gap around it if a T nut has been used. They drill the diameter hole for the T nut all thru the playfield.

It would be more sensible to actually change the post to a wider diameter and put a nut on the bottom (ie forget T nut).

I think I can say @strobey had his mind blown today by GnR

I was equally left with a smile from ear to ear

Wow wow wow what a fun and awesome machine

That light show is something else

Looks good but wood chopping yawnfest sadly - Hopefully JJP sort out the playfield issue.

Get the game on Scorbit !

This guy is so right but good news i think ,all thats needed is a metal bushing insert with outer diameter of the hole and inner as the post also a longer post with a nut and washer on

he is a total fool.

My posts did not move at all, it was tighter than a Liverpudlian at the bar. I think putting in something to stop it moving won't hurt but based on the rest of the issues with the playfield (its more than these posts) I doubt that it will do anything other than delay the issue.

Cheers,
Neil.

What are the other issues ?i thought the problems were all at the base of posts and certainly when i have seen post base washers bent up,this is the only way it could happen isnt it? I agree its not the full story however as pooling is a separate issue but the lateral movement is what appears to me to be is digging into the playfield

So much as I’ve been looking forward to my CE arriving I have no room to even set it up so I’ll let you guys do all the prototyping and hopefully JJP might come up with a viable workaround by the time I have some space sorted for it.
I will however be fitting Cliffys and also be installing some of my own protectors for the essentials before I start banging my balls up and down the pin.

few other places also that I can't find the photos of, one of them. I hope for you guys filling the hold solves the problem but I can't see it
