Has the bubble burst.........

where’s all the mm , mb , afm top titles rarely come up
Probably because they are desirable, people are reluctant to let those titles go, as they know that if they change their minds, and want to get them back at some point, it would be difficult. I’ve been on this forum 18 months, and I think I’ve yet to see a mb or mm for sale, i would imagine those titles generally change hands behind closed doors.

It's behind the draw bridges, but you are nearly right 👍

Pin sales certainly seem to be dropping in the 2nd hand market for sure, based on the amount of sales on here and elsewhere. Bubble burst, not so certain but prices are for sure dropping... quite fast from what I can see.

I would think many are in for one or two from the new pin releases, and are looking to move games on for the new arrival/s. Some may be wanting to move games on quicker than others, some not so much. I think you can kind of see this on the prices machines are listed at, and at what level are of discounts are offered when they don't sell quick.

Some with many or a few pins appear to be having a go renting some of their collection. Really great idea if the insurance and stuff isn't a headache and hassle, and you have the time to support any issues. Renting would certainly help fund the new expensive pin that's due in, or if planning for a NIB. Renting out, especially if the games are not getting played, and they can see the prices coming down is a no brainer really. Would there be even more pins for sale if those weren't renting ? quite possibly but who knows.

For those lucky enough purchasing a NIB Pro Foo Fighters say, could probably sell the game for 7k after 1.5yrs, costing you just over £80 a month, that's great value in my opinion for someone to play their dream game from brand new. The problem being not many people may have over 8.5k just to splash out on a NIB, but they may have a a few pins to sell. However If they really want that new fancy machine asap you'll have to price your current ones to sell.

Desirable games will always hold a premium price over other games, like everything else, as well as those in the proper tip top condition.

Most definitely a buyers market just now for games if you don't care for a NIB, more so for those under 5k I think.

There are a fair few pins up for sale but none in my opinion that are desirable where’s all the mm , mb , afm top titles rarely come up
Apart from @Jib’s ‘multi-gym saver’, I’m not seeing any modern Sterns come up either. You’d expect that if people were buying the newly-released NIB titles that there’d be (older) LCD Sterns coming up.

I think with the many trade adverts up involving the Stern Spike Games, some are sold through messenger.

I recently sold my Stranger Things this way, as I had buyers lined up from that.

the c-19 bubble has burst. prices were inflated then due to high demand (so yes it was technically a bubble!). now we’re seeing a “market correction”, to use a financial term. It’s therefore a better time to buy right now than sell.

It’s as simple as that.
Well put 👍

I typed out something similar but for some reason didn't post it.

The correction was inevitable and may last months or could last a few years but the upward trend will eventually resume (well it always does in the stock market anyway!).

Maybe you'll be able to pick up a player's TZ for 4k, I would say dip your bread in while you can as eventually you won't get one for less than 10k.

Depends which market you shop at 😉
Knightsbridge farmers market -v- Snetterton Sunday market

When punters tell you there isn't a bubble, there's definitely a bubble.

Shop used Stern's from the last 10 years. They cost what they should cost, everything else is the jungle.

I genuinely wish the bubble would burst but I can‘t see it happening on the older stuff ever! By that I mean DMD and older pins.

For example just take a look at that FG up for sale ATM. I mean who in their right mind would pay that much for a SS game? They must have lost their marbles sheeeesh! 😉

In 30+ years of collecting I’ve never seen a dip in prices albeit lockdown did inflate them which I think was mainly due to the influx of newbies into the hobby with all these garden pubs, mancaves and gamesroom‘s being built out of boredom.

Now as for NIB thats a different matter altogether and although Stern are still riding the ever increasing wave of profit I think they will shortly price themselves out of the market for the average Joe. In turn these Bi-Annual price hikes can only fuel the used market and increase that bubble even more.

In the words of Yazz my prediction for the future is “the only way is up baby”

At no point in the past have DMD games appreciated at the rate they have, with no real reason outside the government locking us at home and giving us money.

There has to be a correction sooner or later.

I think Stern's gonna see an up tick since their games are becoming increasingly attractive to those who are still in the market.

It's the first time I've ever looked at NIB as being anything other than a cash fire.

As someone who was relatively late to this (crazy) hobby I've got a long list of BW classics and less sought after BW titles that I'd like to own one day . So if you all want to sell these off cheap to pay crazy NIB prices drop me a message 😂

The problem there is will that start to push people away from the hobby? I know of at least two of my friends that have come out and don’t think they will get back in.

I honestly cannot see it keep going up, regardless of NIB prices, it will simply price most people out or reduce the number of games they can have.

Just had a look over what is currently for sale yet again. Even if I had some spare spondoolies nothing takes my fancy tbh. But keep looking back and forth.
