I pulled the vector as I was a bit ****ed off that the bloody thing was broken , I figured it was and thought just get shot of it then lots of folks on here and eBay mentioned it should be an easy fix and Rav kindly agreed to have a go at fixing it. And as I am selling up to build a games shack I do really need to get as much for it as possible .

Games shack or juniors overflow toy area?

Could b me. I have one and its missing its main control board if anyone ever comes across one

I wonder if some Vectors had a small upper right flipper and some had a big one fitted in the factory?

The Vector I used to own (was Dave Rolfe's) had a big flipper, I can't remember what my current one has (in storage, I'll check when I'm next there) and if you look on google images there seems to be a mixture of sizes.....though it's often difficult to see looking up the playfield as tucked away on the upper level! The ipdb pic shows a small one.

It would be interesting to know what other Vector owners have!
It's supposed to be a small flipper. Just looking at the layout you can see a big flipper hangs over the edge of the ramp. Greg Kmiec, the designer, comments that a big flipper would cause the ball to hit the nearby X-Y-Z target with too much force. One thing I noticed straight away after changing mine is VECTOR is a harder game with a small flipper. It's harder to keep the ball on the upper playfield I think because there's a wider gap down the ramp between the pop bumper and the flipper tip when it's engaged.

From IPDB (I realise IPDB isn't the definitive source of all pinball knowledge, but it's a reasonable reference):

We asked designer Greg Kmiec if ever a 3-inch flipper was intended, or if changes were made during production. He confirmed his original playfield drawing has a small flipper in this upper playfield location. He said that a larger flipper would somewhat inhibit the pinball from entering the upper playfield and provide too much power shooting at the nearby targets. He does not remember changing his original design to a larger flipper anytime during the production run. From this, it appears the parts manual is in error to indicate the top flipper is the same size as the bottom flippers.

Anyone on here nab the Lost In Space? Toyed with chucking in a bid but lack of space and common sense ruled in the end.

Looked and was a little tempted myself but for the same reason left well alone.
What did it go for in the end ?

Went for over £1200 which I feel is a good £300+ too much. Only ever played one once. Felt pretty much the same as Twister. I suspect it's pretty much the same as any other SEGA so you're really paying for the rarity as opposed to the playability.

The listing was also a little strange, 1AM finish time and a large bid retraction very early on, Made me wonder if the potential buyer had seen it and decided not too go through with the bid,

Also rightly or wrongly I assumed this is the same machine as previously offered by "devon" in Hove. Never like dealing with people who have multiple identities on ebay as I always think something shifty is going on. (Maybe it's his dad's account the second time round)

All this though might be totally wrong assumptions by me but was enough for me to keep my wallet in my pocket.

Hope whoever got it enjoys it and maybe we'll get the chance to play it at a show.

I retracted my bid. I have a new policy that I put in my bid early (which I'm dead against really) and if someone bids and bids and bids to see what I've put up then I retract my bid and leave it as a potential shill that way the seller could end up with less if it is them or a mate.

I offered him 1150 off ebay 4 weeks ago which he refused.

Who was looking for a shocker??? I know someone was looking for one....

I've looked at getting one of these shocker chairs for the games room, and did a bit of research on it. It seems that many of them fail after a while, which is why most of the ones that have been on eBay have been faulty. Apparently the problem is down to the PCB, and the company that made them is no longer in business and they are pretty much impossible to get fixed (unless you know how to do it yourself I suppose). Still, if that are cheap enough they look pretty cool working or not! From the pic of the shocker chair on eBay, if it is still where that picture was taken it looks the sort of place they could plug it in and test it? If it is working, £400 is a good price!

Why do people automatically think rare=mega bucks? I've never played a Kingpin seeing as only 8 exists but that translates to nearly £50,000. If I had that much money I would NOT spend it on a single pinball. I'm pretty sure you could get the schematics etc etc and build your own for way less money!

If I was rolling in it, I'd buy it. I'd love to snap BBB & Pinball magic off too.

Capcoms good games + only 8 in world = $???????. Surely someone will offer a price close. Didn't it sell for 50-60k before this one? or maybe it is the same one.

No one's going to be able to remake that at home without the game in possession. I've had a hard enough job redrawing the playfield as it is because the resources are very thin. Twice this week I've seen new Kingpin images but they haven't been good enough compared to what I already have.

Reprogramming the game wouldn't be so bad or just run the rom from a p-roc. It's actually 2 different games with this table too using the power meter with one, which has been a bit of a pig to work out how to do virtually.
