Oh misread your question  I usually give it a couple of weeks, not answering messages is worrying but seller may be on holiday!

With the whole sniping thing, I often do a combination of the two things folks have mentioned. Put in a bid of just the opening amount, so the seller knows someone is interested and is less likely to pull it. Then I usually use the site ezsniper.com to snipe for me. You put in the item number and your maximum bid. The site will then automatically bid that for you with about 3 seconds left to go. If you don't win it, no charge. If you do win, ezsniper charge you a commission of 1% of the winning bid. So winning something for £30 costs you 30p. I like it because you don't need to be logged on and can snipe the stuff that ends when you're normally at work or asleep.

I prefer to just leave my PC on and use JBidWatcher for that TBH, free and easy. ;)

Lotsnipe does the same for free

That one sold for 25,000€ a while ago! either it was shilled up and they re-lister or the buyer pulled out.
There was genuine offers of around 17,00€ I think.

the cabinet has been heavily customised, which might not be to everyone's taste, but must have taken a reasonable amount of effort. It looks well done enough: powder coated legs, side rails, lockdown bar, shooter, coin door, hinges, and extra trim on the cabinet and backbox. But although it's not a total disaster the playfield is like it's been lifted from another less cared-for game: worn to the wood around the spinners, ramp drops and the vuk holes need some serious Cliffy love. It's dirty, the flippers are wonky and something about the compass inserts looks wrong.

"The machine is all working but the right ramp isn't raising" - not "all working" then!

If I had £24k, I'd rather buy 34 solid state machines

Its the patented Star Trek Filter aka Vaseline on the lense..

Anyone on here after the populated but knackered Paragon playfield that's on eBay at the moment? I quite fancy it to help finish my project but don't want to get into a bidding war with a fellow PinballInfo user if we're looking to get different parts. Mostly I want the actual plywood playfield itself.
I was outbid. Someone put a large bid down yesterday evening and I was auto out-bid as I tried to snipe at the 3s mark. It had held at £48 for several days and I'd decided my maximum price was £75, but it incremented to £77 at the finish. Oh, well. It's a shame. Back to the drawing board...

That's the way to eBay though. Set a limit and stick to it, otherwise you just feel cheated when you've paid over the odds for an item. And bidding in the final seconds also removes the chance to be tempted to bid more.

Good luck with your quest to restore your Paragon,
