Woz

Thanks for sharing pics.

Must say that does look nice. I didn't like the artwork (especially the coloured border around the characters) when i saw the pictures of the playfield.

It works much better on a built table..

would have thought mini flippers better for at least one of the mini pf?

But proof is in the playing/quality - we'll see

Next update due in a couple of days about the sound system. Apparently it is a genuinely revolutionary new sound system in pinball, as opposed to the time Stern claimed a revolutionary new sound system in AC/DC and just put a slightly bigger cheap sub in rather than the standard size cheap sub.

Jack still plans on having most of these delivered by xmas and they have an awful lot of the parts they need to get started, unfortunately there's a few parts vendors who aren't going quite as fast as was hoped, hence the delay.

Anyway, I got some nice pics of one of the beta's to share

You can say what ya like about AC/DC - the sound package works REALLY well in a home environment.

I have played many games on an AC/DC LE and it just gets better n better. With upcoming updates it will be even better.Really is a GREAT game.

And I aint biased as I have no orders for either game.

And TBH the toys look ****e in XMen,but that could be an awesome game

i cant think of anything better than that soundtrack on a pin and i prefer heavy bass orientated dance music!

i did see DC about 15 years ago though and they were outstanding!

The company that was hired to manufacture the sound bars/speakers for WOZ managed to go bust 12 weeks ago which is contributing to the delay on shipping.

Fortunately Pinnovations stepped into the breach and are taking over the sound system for WOZ

Here's an update:

Clean Stereo Sound:

Integrated into the Back box speaker bar is a set of enclosed mini

speaker cabinets. A Right and a Left speaker set will deliver the mids

and highs in stereo. Expect "Real highs" from separate tweeters in

each of the two speaker cabinets too. The combined enclosure with the

tweeters, delivers a amazing crisp clean sound unlike any pinball

before it.

Better bass:

The Cabinet speaker is a poly woofer and will be used to cover the

bass sounds and will compliment the back box speakers in the same way

as set of external computer speakersworks with a subwoofer. We didn’t

skimp on the woofer! We spent the extra money to get a better sounding

woofer that will deliver great bass sound.

Amplifier:

The amplifier is an exclusive Pinnovators design for Jersey Jack

Pinball by our engineer, Mark Antonucci. At one point in time a while

back rumor was the amp would be 600 Watts... Lol, it's not a car

stereo! The amplifier has enough power to get the job done and then

some to spare. We want to keep the ball from bouncing up and down on

the play field! (Maybe that could be a hidden mode some day). For more

versatility the back of the machine will have a Stereo Auxiliary

output that can be plugged into as big of an amplifier as you want!

Sound Testing:

We played all types of music as we test out the design. Examples

include but are not limited to: Woz tracks as well as Country, Rock,

R&B music

and of course Progressive rock! (Some DT and Transatlantic!! Mark’s

favorite)).

Headphone Jack:

We designed the headphone jack to be directly built into the coin

door. Our current headphone jack Kit (PinPAC1) is a mono mix (that’s

all the old machines give us!!).Woz will be the first pinball machine

to have an amplified stereo headphone jack.

Another great updated from Jack today, bitching and moaning about suppliers and issues - he's starting to sound like Wayne did. I guess building a machine isn't easy, fair play to him for trying. Last I heard, he hadn't stuck one in the post to the UK, so don't expect one at the show

It's not really bitching and moaning if you are telling the truth.

People want to know why it's delayed and he is telling them.

I'm in no hurry, it can take another 12 month for me

Jack has announced Woz will start shipping within 90days. Better late than never :-)

Im sick of waiting now mind. I know its not like the Wayne situation where machines never materialised, but its going to be released about a year later than most people expected. My enthusiasm is waning!

I was speaking to an operator in the US and he said he wasn't expecting his WOZ before January.

this was gonna be my first NIB, i was excited to get in on the futuristic first pin from a new manufacturer ...... but a couple of days ago i asked Phil at PH to resell my numbered LE and refund my deposit. he has done, so that's me out now. the decision felt good, i couldn't afford it and had no space to put it. plus my enthusiasm just dripped away over the last few months of nothing happening.

i've had access to the WOZ-buyers' forum for several months, and have seen a slow but steady groundswell of disappointment from the members there, as it's just too slow. we all know it's coming, but i think he's missed the crest of the wave now, to be honest. , i'm worried that Jack is gonna start to see more of the same, and will lose his fanbase to other pins. it may not be his fault if his suppliers let him down, but there it is.

i'm sure i'll never buy a NIB now, £6K is enough for three great games, or even something sensible like a car or a kitchen refurb. God help me if the wife ever found out what my pin hobby is costing.

You never told me you were on the list Dan. There are many things out there that we want but we do have to be realistic and know our space and wallets are limited.

I think my excitement would also have turned to disappointment and then by now I would have convinced myself I didn't want it anyway.

Jon, hold in there, keep the enthusiasm and suspend your excitement until you get notification that it is on its way. It is going to be a cracking pin.

Oh Im not backing out now, dont worry. Ive had the cash sitting in the bank for 12 months now!

The cftbl is helping to tide me over

Latest vid. Make sure you watch the 2nd half for close ups

News from Jack is that the table is as good as finished mechanically and most of the parts are in stock to start production. We are now just waiting on Keith's code. He's dead against doing a Stern and releasing a table with unfinished code *ahem AC/DC* and then updating it 6months down the line. He would rather hold the pin back 6 months and give everyone the game it is meant to be from day one. I can't imagine how much extra work it will be to program 150+ rgb LEDs, a 26' LCD, all the animations etc.

Vids and pictures do nothing for me to be honest, I don't like the look of it BUT I always reserve judgement until playing a game and oddly I generally dislike games the 1st few times I play them (in fact IM took around 70 games before I realised its greatness)

I don't think you need to dig at Stern ref ACDC Jonathan as the code in it was VERY good from the off (change it to WoF and you're on the money
tongue-1.png
), there wasn't a huge lot missing from ACDC and I would much rather have the game for 6 months with good software with a guaranteed update to come and keep it fresh for me. I think this is the way Jack should go, otherwise more people will bail, as long as the software is solid, I see no reason to hold back and every reason to say update one will be by X date etc which would definitely trump Stern and their lack of info in that department.

..Next you'll be putting the programmers at Apple & Microsoft above the guys at JJP.

Apple are always rolling out updates. It's the norm.. Even TV's now a-days-require a "live" update.

Programming styles & flaws are spotted all the time hence "updates"

JJP never produced a machine before.. Yet being placed above other firms. Odd.

I think the problem is the software isnt even fully playable yet! For all he is saying they want the code finished before it ships, imbpretty sure there will still be ongoing updates aftet release. Im not expecting ANY of the games to be shipped by xmas tbh

Thanks for the update.

100% sure this isn't a machine for me. That music............. After a day I'm pretty certain I'd reduce the machine to matchsticks.

Quite like the flying monkey, but overall I've been left with a feeling of "is that it" for the huge amount of money they are asking.

Oh well, each to their own. Hopefully more manufacturers will mean more games, more ideas and a downward push on the prices for old machines

Hmmmm . Less excited about this the more I see. For all the initial talk of innovation I'm basically seeing a bunch of colour changing LEDs, and an ugly looking screen in the backbox.

and all for.... £4k plus.
