The "Today I received" Thread

I’m pretty sure from memory the basic “Gold” version was retailing for £10k.
I can see why people were put off at that price, but it's an IP that seemingly never ages, I'm a big fan myself.

I'm guessing the "There are warehouses full of unsold Beatles" comments I've seen in the past are untrue.

But boy you pay a premium for that IP. Buy a better stern game, hang some Beatles pics on the wall and put on your fave Beatles lp.
I'm a massive Beatles fan, and I would have a Beatles pin, IF the price was ever reasonable - i.e £5-6K for any model variant.

Buy a Seawitch for £3k and then go and get John Lennon’s stage-worn socks at auction with the other £7k 😄

Yep trust me there isn’t warehouses full of them , some comments make it sound like distros are using Beatles machines to prop open doors and are just tripping over them 😂
Electrocoin do have a platinum for 21k 😂😂

Bit of an impulse buy, but thought they could be used for cooling flipper coils on the cheap. I don't usually play long enough for it to be an issue so I'm not the best test subject.

On offer for £13.99 so worth a punt I thought - Dual Fans

They have 3 points of articulation and 3 fan speeds. Fits through the coin door, just needs a USB power supply.

I tried them on my desk and they produced quite a chill.

One of the first games to go on my wanted list when I played one at Flipout years ago....Walking Dead Premium.
Arrived yesterday but only had time for a quick go before heading out to see the Stranger Things stage show (very good, despite the hot and cramped theatre)

Got up today and installed an LED colour led (cheers @CHRIS B PINBALLS !) and custom sound rom.

Vid of my wife playing surprisingly well

Looks a lovely machine that. Colour dmd definitely adds to it. Can I ask what music rom you are using ?

Hi Kenny, yeah it's by a guy called RandomKG on pinside, where he took (with permission) Cleland's rom and then added (instrumental edits of) Radiohead and NIN tunes. Works really well I think- if you message the guy on pinside he'll give you links to both the PG and adult versions of is 1.60(?) code, and his email so if you download it, you can paypal him some beer money 👍🏻 I asked him recently and he said he did keep the stock music for HOARD mode, as it's so good (not that I've got that far - game is brutal and I've now moved the outlane posts in)
There's also good TOOL sound mod, but haven't got toubd to installing that (when I tried it on visual pinball I was so crap at the game I couldn't enjoy the music)

I gotta admit I prefer ceiling lights to pin stadiums as they always look like it's washing out the colours of the game.
I prefer playing with the lights off. If anything the think the pinstadium make the colours pop more, was never interested in them before but got a set cheap to try on MMr and I really rate them now. Stranger Things is better without them, A:IQ I don’t think needs them but some pins benefit from them I think.

Evening, arrived about a week ago, but now set up and fully working. Some areas of attention to keep my noob hands busy with, but for my FIRST EVER PIN, I'm proper happy.20241007_133954.webp

There is a mod or 2 you can do to that game to make it harder,
". One such mod is to create a gate below the standup so that shots to it exit into the plunger lane, and to also remove the gate behind the left flipper to make it harder to get control of the ball on that flipper to make the target shot."

This was often done in competitions.

I temporarily took out the gate by the left flipper for a league match to make it harder to trap the ball on the left flipper then shoot the right target.

Alan

One issue you always get with totan is that the right inlane outlane plastic always breaks as it doesn't go all the way to the top of the divider. Once this happens the ball can easily jump between the lanes usually inlane to outlane. 😞

Years ago I had one of these made up for my totan. It serves to stop the plastic breaking or if the plastic is already broken it serves to reinstate the divider but better.

I had a load made up as it was little difference in price whether I had one made or 10 or 50. I think I opted for 50, maybe 30. It was when I lived in Malaysia 20 years ago and in the relatively early days of cad and laser cutting. They were done by a company that was supplying a friend's low volume bespoke medical equipment business with one off parts. Once on the machine they look factory.

I will pop one in the post to you.

... there may be other games these are useful for but I have never come across any. They fit the standard plastic lane guide used at that time. Part number 03-9216.
