The "Today I received" Thread

Alan

One issue you always get with totan is that the right inlane outlane plastic always breaks as it doesn't go all the way to the top of the divider. Once this happens the ball can easily jump between the lanes usually inlane to outlane. 😞

Years ago I had one of these made up for my totan. It serves to stop the plastic breaking or if the plastic is already broken it serves to reinstate the divider but better.

I had a load made up as it was little difference in price whether I had one made or 10 or 50. I think I opted for 50, maybe 30. It was when I lived in Malaysia 20 years ago and in the relatively early days of cad and laser cutting. They were done by a company that was supplying a friend's low volume bespoke medical equipment business with one off parts. Once on the machine they look factory.

I will pop one in the post to you.
Ooh excellent thank you.

One of @xianek 's lovley printed back glasses arrived today for me jaws premium. Really pops in person.

Also fitted some 5 1/4" kickers and made up some 3D printed speaker lights with a jaws cut out.

Awesome game, almost tempted to blow a grand on the bit of plastic to go on top.... almost.

I think I'd have to replace the translight too if I owned a Premium.

Who says you can't buy cheap pinball machines anymore  Today I picked up this 1934 Daval Blue Streak for the princely sum of 85 quid :thumbs:Never had a pre-war game before and this is more a jigsaw puzzle than pinball machine but should make for an interesting little project. It was the flyer that sold me on it, looks like it could be fun!

Hasn't seen a cloth for a while and the battery's use by date is 2010 🤯

Appears to be fully working though. I'm not going to do a full shop, but some powdercoating, new rubbers and some LED GI, pinblades and possibly a Pin2DMD should have it in decent nick

Two pins arrived today , lucky me that’s Xmas pinball sorted! Thanks so much to seiko kid for picking
them both up from different places and bringing them over , truly above and beyond help!

Alongside TAF, MM is still the GOAT

It's more like what's not going to happen to my Blackout. This particular board is for Williams system 3 to 6.
This board protects your special solenoids from a stuck switch or shorted closed capacitor from destroying its transistor and blowing a hole / vapourising traces in your driver board.
It ensures that the solenoid is only momentarily activated and lets you know that you have a fault.
Apparently you cannot trust the fuse to blow soon enough before major damage occurs.

I do currently have a problem that I am trying to solve. The sound keeps going off, but comes back on if I turn it off and on again, even without a pause.
Some caps have been changed on the sound board, need to do the one on the speech board. Connectors repinned, ic sockets replaced and cold solder joints reflowed.
Next up is to bypass the volume plot with a 3K resistor and see if that makes a difference. Resistors turned up today.

Sounds like the CPU is crashing then. Ideally you'd be wanting to checking what has/hasn't got activity with a logic probe at the time that the sound stops working

That is past my current knowledge. the mpu wasn't booting when I got it.
It has had the 40 pin connector done and faulty ram replaced with nvram. Power board has been recapped.

Another day another new pin and what an absolute beauty ❤️
Pics don’t give justice to these RadCals or whatever spooky call em. Simply stunning.

Arent Radcals where the artwork is printed on plexi and screwed to the cabinet.

Would have thought this was a butter cab where the artwork is printed directly to the wood and clear coated.
