The "How much is this table worth" thread....

Hi guys,
I am running out of space so I have a gottleib black hole export but have full speech, all new and old boards. Full working and tidy for its age, great back glass. Wondered what you guys think would be a sensible price? Also have a Williams black knight which
Was restored a few years ago but currently not working. Nice playfield and cab, glass needs replacing.
Your help with your ideas on prices would be gratefully received. Thanks Adrian

Hi Ady, do you have any pics, will help giving you a good valuation.

The non-aficianados won't buy a dead game. Aficionados have been bitten by dead games in the past and will apply a discount.

I think you would get a better result if you can fix the BK. Wiggle the connectors? Battery damage? Can you board swap with a working game to target the fault?

Agreed, bk, looking at ebay and fb recently, there was a Jungle Lord up for £1.4k, apparently better than bk, but not such a good theme. Is it the back glass that's missing or the playfield?

Back glass is there but is flaking badly so would bug you.
So factor in a replacement in the sale price, perhaps just north of £1k if it's working, less if it's struck down with unknown problems.

Black hole, similar era, Gotlieb, perhaps £1.2k to £1.5k, it is a scifi theme and will be desirable on that basis

Word of caution, I'm no expert, just my feel for the value. ;)

David Blake at Cambridge, kindly reconditioned the BK for me but thinking about it it was best part of ten years ago and the machine needed a lot of coils, new connectors etc… has 2 sets of boards

Many thanks, I’m just trying to gauge weather to sell or put them upstairs in my unit and forget about them for the time being.👍

Any chance it's got battery damage? Have a look at the boards in the back ox, hopefully it won't have furry batteries....

Please may I asked for a valuation on a Last Action Hero and an Independece Day

Last Action Hero has a fault with the main sound. Works OK otherwise

Independence Day has a sticky left flipper.

Both in reasonable cosmetic condition and play.

Pics to follow

Lah ..no sound or lots of hum??? Could be a +12v -12v +5v issue, common on data East when the caps leak on the power board.

Not much hum, just main theme died when I was playing it.

I'm familar with replacing caps, but I'm bit more of an arcade game person. Willing to learn though

@VeeMonroe smashing open the piggy bank and counting pennies
Yeah, I’ve just emailed asking for info.

I’m not sure if it’s the one without speech (it mentions speech) and the static backglass, and whether I’m willing to compromise on that to avoid a future import.

Both cpu boards have replacement batteries. I think it would be a power board issue. Would be nice to see BK running again

Open up a thread on the technical help section, there will be plenty of us wanting to help you bring her back to life.

First step, check all of the fuses, take them out and use a multimeter in continuity setting to see if they are good, next check all the cable connection to each circuit board. With a machine this age, it's likely it may need some connections reflowing as solder joints have dried.

If no joy after this, still plenty of hope ;)

Many thanks, I will do that and report back👍

What do the more recent spider man table go for now a days, the one with doc oc and sand man on, in case there are any other recent ones :-)

What are TWD pro's valued at these days? Zero mods but it decent condition.
I can't find it on here anymore using a search, but IIRC a nice pro with red powder coating, Fish tank mod (and colour DMD?; not sure) went on here fairly recently for I think around £4.5/£4.8k?
Previous to that the last pros on here I think (one defo had a colour dmd) went for over £5k.
Awesome game which I'd love to own one day, but no space or cash at the mo'!

Can anyone else give a steer on the value of a Black Hole?

I had an email chat with Coin Op King last year about the cost of bringing a US Black Hole into the UK in a container. We came to the conclusion that it would be about £4k landed: I'd need to buy the Black Hole, transport it to a storage area in the States (with fees) before loading into a container, and then I'd have to pay duty and transport at this end.

I didn't know there were more than two Black Holes in the UK (export or otherwise). I've now investigated how easy it would be to convert an export Black Hole into a US version with spinning backglass, and it's probably ~$2k + duty to import a twin back-glass, and then however much it costs to make and repaint a bigger backbox based on a Gottlieb God of War template, plus some parts (e.g. 6v motor, plastic disk). So, I'm guessing about £2.5k to do the conversion, plus the initial cost of the pin.

From the discussions on here when I first posted about how much I liked Black Hole on Pinball Arcade, this apparently isn't a hot and desirable pin - it seems to be a bit weird to like the older Gottliebs that much. But it's possible I'm wrong about that...

I'm just trying to get a steer because I don't have £4k of pinball budget right now to import a Black Hole (we've just bought a Godzilla and am saving for a MMr), but might be interested in one for the right price. I haven't heard much from @Ady Pope, so I'm guessing he's probably thinking about putting the pins back into semi-storage. Which would potentially be a shame. From looking at the Pinball Owners site, there are way too many pins in storage compared to the number of people who'd like to actively play them. Some European collectors on that site seem to have hundreds of them :)

This one? £5400 and no colour DMD
