The "How much is this table worth" thread....

Hi,

1947 Gottlieb Humpty Dumpty needs a new home

I've been sent here from r/pinball and would be grateful for advice on possible values for my girlfriend's 1947 Gottlieb Humpty Dumpty. While I appreciate that it's relatively significant from a historical perspective, that doesn't necessarily translate into a comfortable retirement!

It was fully working about 30 years ago. It's missing its top glass and is in need of restoration, but the hand painted back glass and playing surface is in excellent condition and it's in need of a good home.

Pretty much everything looks original and the main body is in reasonably good condition, with good legs, body paintwork and main playing table all looking appropriate for its age.

Thanks in advance,

Trent
Just giving this a little bump...

I don't think one's sold on here before so it's tough to price. On Pinside, a project went for $500 but it was a little nicer than yours overall. It would be a wild guess but I'd think somewhere between £150-350? A working Skylab was offered to me for £450 so that's what I'm going off. Sadly I don't think the historical important affects price too much.

Cook up some baloney story with some photoshopped and bogus provenance.

Then get on that workshop programme on TV.

It saved my grandfather's life by shielding him from the gas explosion in his living room

My dad was conceived under it at a party

When the ship sank my aunt used it as a raft

Yul Brynner (or whichever film star you like) insisted on it being flown over from the USA for his accommodation caravan

Elizabeth Taylor played it when filming Cleopatra in Italy and it can he seen on now deleted outtakes from the film

Steven Hawking had it in his room at university and it inspired his book on physics or cats or whatever

Indeed, go all of the above

Very tempting!

I think if we had time in our favour we'd probably go down that route, but we need to find a new home for it.

What's a used BKSOR Pro likely to be fetching nowadays? My step son was looking at how much he'd need for one?

Probably 5k-5.5k depending on condition. Don't think there's too many around though...
Thanks @Fubar , that's what I told him. I can see it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I have to say both myself and Ben are quite taken with it. What do you do when you run out of money and room? Pass the bug on to close family with space and money ;)

I’ve come close to selling mine and every time I give it ‘one last game’ I fall in love with it again.
It’s a great game, superb animations and simple to understand 👍 hope you find one.

BKSOR Pro looks very very appealing to me also, looks brutal and will last a lifetime to learn it, like a good difficult arcade shooter.

I bought a few lottery tickets and scratch cards when I seen this but had no luck 😂 A brand new one may still be available from these guys ?https://www.pinballinfo.com/communi...s-tmnt-pro-bk-sor-pro-update-tmnt-sold.51781/

Just to let people know that the machine has now found a new home. Many thanks to all for their advice and helpful comments - very much appreciated.

Hi, any ideas what my Bally Sky kings might be worth please?

Refurb thread below, it is now fully working with a super minty back glass - see below for all detail of what i have done to bring it back to life: -

Thanks

what’s a players condition flash gordon worth. faded cab. pf ok. flasher works.
Honestly I think the only way to put a value on something like that is to work backwards. I reckon a full minter with new playfield etc (which I'm guessing is what you're planning Alan) is 5k+ nowadays. So if you work out what it will cost you to do it (which I'm sure you have en excellent grasp of) it will give you a good idea. I'm guessing 2.5k is what you want to be aiming for, which if you can get it for that I think you're doing well
