The "How much is this table worth" thread....

Just my 2p worth .....Depends though what you consider *needs* putting right.
Not every machine *has* to be made into a perfect shiny trophy , with it's matching price tag . And not everyone is that bothered. Almost all machines of that vintage will show wear and tear , and being a cheap b*stard :D I'm all for more cheaper players condition machines in the world.
Yeah I get that mate but surely it should still be reflected in the price. Saying the playfield looks ‘good’ worried me into thinking Will was going to go and pay good money for something thinking it’s in a better state than what it actually is.

Wants the a rough guide price for a p2k episode 1 ( Star Wars) ?

I’ve been to the pinball office today and played one, ( for the first time)
I know it’s generally regarded as a bit of a dog, but I really enjoyed it, spose it helps I’m a massive Star Wars fan !

im guessing as it’s not really desirable, the price would reflect that

There was one on EBay recently with a high reserve and BIN or starting bid at £4000. Needless to say it was relisted quite a few times. I seem to remember the maximum bid was around £2500 but that didn’t meet the reserve. It did look in reasonable condition but no pictures of it actually switched on.

I'd say 2-2.5k if priced sensibly.
Rfm is the better game and that was on here for sub 2k a hear or two ago

I seem to remember Neil sold his rough around the edges but fully working Alien Poker for around £800? Cool game
£500.00

About the only thing I did was put a Williams "W" plate in the coindoor, polish the lockdown bar and that was about it.

Wow!

Out of curiousity, how much is a decent Paragon or Harlem Globetrotters?
£500.00

I’m just (virtually) stood here with my (virtual) mouth open because I love Alien Poker…

Hi,

1947 Gottlieb Humpty Dumpty needs a new home

I've been sent here from r/pinball and would be grateful for advice on possible values for my girlfriend's 1947 Gottlieb Humpty Dumpty. While I appreciate that it's relatively significant from a historical perspective, that doesn't necessarily translate into a comfortable retirement!

It was fully working about 30 years ago. It's missing its top glass and is in need of restoration, but the hand painted back glass and playing surface is in excellent condition and it's in need of a good home.

Pretty much everything looks original and the main body is in reasonably good condition, with good legs, body paintwork and main playing table all looking appropriate for its age.

Thanks in advance,

Trent

First true pinball if I'm not mistaken.
No Idea of value though

@TrentSC any pics of the Humpty Dumpty? Hard to value as they don't come up for sale and your pool of buyers is a niche within a niche within a niche but I could be interested depending on the condition.

Here's a few pics. I've got more but I don't want to overload the post!

I'll PM you re: the additional pics :thumbs:Any idea what happened to the front of the cabinet, looks like it's had a hole cut into it? You say it worked 30 years ago but what happens if you turn it on these days....any signs of life?

I suspect the wiring is shot (I can take a few internal pics tomorrow) so I've been hesitant to turn it in in case it sets the house on fire!

My girlfriend used to play it when she was younger.

The missing bit on the front of the cabinet is the cover for the money box. We've got it, although it might be slightly damaged.

Id be on the blower to Geoff Harvey with that. Ideal candidate for the Repair Shop if you have a good back story. Famous game. Not that good to play.

if you have a good back story
Are ANY of the back stories on that show actually true ? The first casualty of reality TV is the truth after all.

Storage Hunters is famous for "salting the bin" ie adding a safe filled to the brim with foreign cash in a unit otherwise filled with cane patio furniture - you then have the excitement of the safe cracker doing his thing. When you watch Wheeler Dealers you can see fault lights in the instrument panel that they make no mention of, or you see badly corroded wheels that miraculously come up like new with a wipe ....

I must admit to liking wheeler dealers, but I know exactly what you mean, watched one recently and he re skimmed the disc brakes from a Porsche Boxster, to save money! but he then pointed out the machine costs about £4000 and wasn’t available for just joe Bloggs to buy? (I think they said it was possible for specialists to carry this out for you?) They appear to have every possible tool to hand, in the fully stocked garage, and as if by magic a assistant appears when it’s a two man job! and when they add up the total money spent they mention man hours but never include a cost for it in the sums still its all about the programme and I/we still watch. I mean what kind of stupid hobby would people spend all there time and effort??????

I am a big fan of wheeler dealers, I just think you need to take all such shows with a pinch of salt. Many of the jobs that classic cars require aren't that exciting and do not make good TV

Funnily enough, I used to own a wheeler Dealers car. Bought it about 6 months after the show's airing without realising, and a friend sent me teh YouTube link asking "is this the same make of car you've just bought?" I watched about 15 minutes before I started to think "why does that car have my registration number?"
It was a superb car - I enjoyed every mile I drove in it, and the work done was spot on.

which one,

Well, consensus seems to be that they’re now > £1,000 and ‘nailed to the floor’
I'd unnail it for a Twilight Zone.... any takers? I hope you find one, While it was, what 3 years ago (?) I was lucky to get one at that price.

If I drop down dead tomorrow I'll make sure every pinball I own gets offered here first. I'd rather it stayed with you collective lot than traders making a quick buck.

Sadly, I don't have a Twilight Zone. If I did, I'd swap it in a moment for Alien Poker as I don't like TZ that much 😈

Yeah, AP I managed to end up with 2. I think I sold the wrong one though :D

Its hard to believe that I got Nine Ball, 2xAP, Space Shuttle , Meteor, Ali, Quick Silver and Embryon for less than £10K for the lot only three years ago. Now I think to get this collection it would probably be more than £20K!!

Cheers,
Neil.

Edd's workshop is near me and the production company were always rushing him so the cars were 'finished' to the production schedule and then finished properly before sale so most of the 'buyers' are from the other units on the industrial estate to keep everything moving along quickly. Before Wheeler Dealers, Edd made promotional vehicles and you'd often see test driving them through a little village called Odiham and one of his more famous ones, the driveable Sofa.
