Pinside is such an angry place.....

Someone on pinside said they'd phoned Paypal even though they were over the 180 days, and were told by Paypal they would make an exception. Might be more BS, but worth giving them a call?

Wow, grim reading
For those that used paypal and are past the 180 days limit, there's some useful information here

TBH I think it's now time for someone (the UK guy handling the imports?) to step up and represent the UK lot and work out a way forward, if this hasn't happened already.
Thought you only had 45 days to open a Paypal dispute? has something changed?

Thats within eBay i think, but within paypal you have upto 180 days.

Well, thats it. Paypal just said they cannot do anything outside the 180 day time period. Kinda knew it anyway.... :(

Tried doing a chargeback?

From: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/visa-mastercard-chargeback

Complain to your bank/card provider within 120 days of the purchase, and ask to dispute the transaction. It can then start the procedure of claiming the money back from the supplier's bank. It's also good practice to contact the seller (and it may speed the process up).

Some claims can be made after 120 days - for example if you bought something that was for services to be provided in the future, that for some reason weren't provided.

However, even with these claims, there's a time limit of 540 days from the date of paying for the contract.

It's worth noting most bank staff don't really know about this procedure, so you may need to explain it to them. There's no upper limit to the payouts (Mastercard has a minimum of £10).

I know what you're saying Will but, the thing is, Kevin lied to us about having the license. If he said he was building a pin without a license, you wouldn't have put money down. Neither would the majority. I certainly wouldn't.

these f.u.cknuts that contacted fox to dig around which then alerted fox are the major twats here in my eyes , he could have built those machines under the radar no problems ... Very crazy but possible , no one gives a rats ass about pinball the scene is tiny fox wouldn't have even thought about it until
This lot ... So angry, in fact don't read it , it's angered Me so much

agree 100%. i put a comment on the bottom of the article by those 'anonymous' twats at about 9 this morning, it was there earlier but now it's been deleted.

they said this - "We draw up the simple yes/no question about a run of Predator pinball machines, asking for a confirmation of official licensed merchandise status, and attached a picture of the game. Sent." so i just quoted this and mentioned that it would have been less trouble all round if instead of this, they just asked if a license was available.

everything was cool until those people decided to interfere

I contacted my CC bank and told them I was in on a pre-order for a machine which was supposed to be produced by the end of the year. I've had to forward all the email correspondence. Just waiting to hear now.

I paid through a link to my bank account, although I will be going to the bank tomorrow to find out if I can do something with this 'section 75' stuff that Arv posted. (thanks for that by the way, Arv)

Owning one of those unlicensed machines would have been like owning jimmy savilles rolls royce. Could you really enjoy one knowing others got shafted so it could exist? F that!

That guy on pinside that mentions to ring paypal apparently has found out the SKitB paypal account was frozen months ago. May be a part explanation as to why there have been no refunds for a while (other than Kevin withholding them of course).

I think even if they hadn't contacted fox no one would of ever got their machines. Wander if back alley pinball (who were making the toys) got shafted to?

Well just given the details over to my CC company. Anyone been given feedback as to whether paying via Paypal then screws the credit card protection?

Its clear the project was rotten from the get go. Lies were told to get it off the ground. His own mate (Aaron Klump) left his side early on and he HAD to know of the lack of license issue yet he too decided to stay quiet for his 'friend'.

Other vendors were used as shills. Virtua pin and Fast pinball were both speaking up for him at a time when a lot of questions were being asked. They were acting on lies Kevin told them, sure, but even they could have piped up with caution instead of defending their 'Friend' when they knew better.

The anonymous guy who mailed me is a VERY longtime member on pinside. I know who he his and I thought about exposing him, but he did us all a favour so I wont. Anyone who thoroughly reads the last 20 pages of that huge thread will also know. Its all there. Now, were his (or the others that joined him) intentions pure in the beginning? Perhaps these people have fell foul of their own licensing issues in the past and felt it their righteous duty find out the truth and inform the correct parties? Where I'm from that is also considered a c*nts trick, but I'm torn in that regard as this project HAD to be right.

The Politics of pinball, the greed, and vicious defending of IP initiated by the stealing of it by disgruntled pinsters has taken its toll for sure.

Everyone else get an email? Mine was the first personalised one from Kevin since I requested the refund and is different to the one posted on pinside

This is what I got this morning:

With all the chaos of the last few days I see it only fitting to remind everyone that I am still here and going through the necessary processes to get everyone what they've asked for. An official statement will be released as soon as possible, but you all need to know that I have not, as recent articles would have you believe, disappeared, nor do I plan to. My endless apologies for what you are all enduring, and you are all paramount in my mind while we expedite a solution to the issues you are all facing currently.
-Kevin

Not had any others since.
