New members - say hello right here : )

Welcome Nick.
The SLAM will be a great chance to meet and talk to people as well as get a good go on a number of machines. Plus there will be machines for sale so who knows, you might be able to take one you like home. Grab a person who looks like they are helping out and you will find they will happily chat to you for hours or until the next machine needs fixing.
The point of pinball is to have fun and/or challenge yourself.

Thanks for the welcome folks (& the 'likes!').

Still very much in Devon Ian (as per the avatar IO've now got set up), but obviously in the deep north compared with yourself!

:)
He mean's North (East) of Kingsbridge rather than being in the North of Devon next to Rudi...

Indeed - the intended interpretation.

Exeter generally gets classed as 'East Devon' (although we are to the west of the official 'East Devon Council District'), although the desk I'm, sat at at the moment is probably less than 100m from the Teignbridge District Council border which could be classed as the beginnings of the 'badlands' of South Devon

Hi everyone. I am just posting to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I live in chingford north east london. I met Ian W down at the pipeline in Liverpool street the other day and he recommended I join so here I am! I have only been playing pinball for 2 months and mostly on the pinball arcade so currently do not own any machines. but hopefully one day.....

I got hooked when I went to the pipeline for the first time and stumbled into playing in a tournament (and got smashed! Dead last I think). But it was great fun and everyone down there made me feel welcome.

I am now just trying to get more practice in and learn the rule sets on more tables to hopefully be able to hold my own in a future tournament. My favourite table so far is World Cup soccer closely followed my monster bash but any recommendations for good tables to learn and where to play them would be welcome.

Look forward to reading through all the posts and learning more!

Chris

Have you caught up with Benny B. He lives in Exeter but not sure if he frequents Pinball info.

Hi Guys

Chris, in case you didn't know the next London/SE meet is in a few weeks time in Camden with a great selection of machines. So not miles away from you.

Hi all,

Just takin a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mike and live in the South Suburbs of Chicago. I have collected and resotred coinop for thirty years. My current collection includes: The Addams Family, DE Simpsons, PinBot, MotorDome, Water World, Frankenstein, No Fear, Rescue 911, Lethal Weapon 3, Jurassic Park, Police Force, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Midway Beer Tapper, Bally Champion ABC Ball Bowler, Midway Little League Bat & Pitch, and SkeeBall. I generally by non-working games and restore as a hobby.

My current project is a Bally/Midway Motordome that a butcher hacked the playfield harness trying to isolate a problem.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, welcome to Pinball Info.
Sounds like one helll of a collection, and with some cool stuff in it.
Would love a SkeeBall and a bowler.

Hi Mike, welcome friend. This is a great forum. I'm new-ish and everyone has been awesome to me. Your games made me drool :)

Johnny

Hi and welcome.

Motordome was my first ever pinball table. Gave it to my landlord for the final month's rent.

Thanks john, Ian and replicas. The Camden meet sounds great although I warn I am absoloute pants on real tables at the moment (very much finding real tables harder than the simulators on pc). But I am good at drinking **** loads! Where do I find details for the Camden session?

Hi Everyone,

My name is Alex and i live in walthamstow, east london i have only got into pinball recently after playing TPA for the past year and had my first taste of real machines at the shine pinball tournament at the pipeline recently and found everyone to be friendly and welcoming and ended up finding a fellow pinhead (shootagainchris) who lives down the road from me!
I am hoping to get to UKPP in august and try a lot of machines.
I will just say that like chris i am pretty bad at the real thing and looking to better
