Energy prices - gone nuts.

The Linux Kernel is licensed under GPL2. Under the terms of this license, Stern must offer to provide the source code with any modifications they've made.

Note that this doesn't apply to Stern's actual game code (which runs the machine, decodes the assets, etc.), only the open-source components like the kernel and other libraries not written by Stern. They do make modifications to the kernel, and don't offer any source. So they are breaching GPL terms.

indeed.

Security can only go so far with physical access. The Connected stuff needs to be robust to any remote threats for sure, but fighting mods like PB, scorbit, etc. is a losing battle

The spirit of pinball has always been open with mechanical diagrams, schematics, etc. provided in the manual and that's part of what drew me into the hobby.

signed image - problem solved. I doubt many folks will hack their board to run unsigned images.

My parents house runs off oil, I wonder if they are in for a surprise as well?

Holy Sh*t !!!!!!

Last time I ordered in Nov it was 68p........I'm off to check my tank, then my bank balance.......
Yeah, I logged into my British Gas this weekend for the first time in ages... wished I hadn't! Lights - off, monitors - off, that doesn't need to be on stand-by etc.

I am close to knocking on the doors of a few old people on my road and making sure they have someone to talk to about their energy costs. I tried to talk to my Dad and he is greatly confused on what is happening and is confident that the prices won't go up much more as surely the government would intervene.

I paid 56p last time in mid jan

I paid £320 for 500 litres two weeks ago (used to be around £170) and now nearly £700 like you Ian (that's Boilerjuice, one quoted over a grand).

Next to go mental will be logs for your wood burner.... Think I'll go out picking up fallen branches tomorrow.

I have most of a sizeable tree truck in 1 foot thick rings that needs cutting and splitting into logs. I keep starting but thinking the effort is more than It is worth. Not any more. I will get the family working on it as that will keep them warm
Hydraulic log splitter is a must, just wish my kids were still here to move and stack them all😭

Thats annoying, I managed to split a load of big rings like that. My bro had some big old trees chopped down so I filled my van and did a few trips.
Just about got them on the splitter as they were so heavy but they did split ok into pieces, having to chainsaw them would have been a right pain.

Just been quoted £1.28 per litre for heating oil!!!:mad::mad::mad:

OK, just ordered up my tank-refill as the supplier says its about to get worse, but got it for £80p/Litre. Not as bad as I was expecting. Some difference with £1.28/litre......you must be going to Dick Turpin Oil Supplies Ltd.

I was in Glasgow this morning and passed a petrol station with £189.90 for diesel and £1.69.9 for unleaded........WTF!

On the diesel front I needed to put some fuel in my lorry for a short trip as it was getting close to the red, not off the gauge yet but would have been next time I went out. £50 in , got back in cab and gauge on quarter! Normally costs about £130 to fill it from empty!

Let’s look at all the lovely positIves. With 20% of the cost of fuel being made up of VAT and another 50 odd pence being fuel duty the government will have a nice big revenue stream to spend wisely. 😉

More seriously commuting is going to become bloody expensive which doesn’t sit well with the stated objective of getting people back into offices etc.

FFS!!!! I'm tempted to get an IBC and send you some down!

Thank god we are heading into spring (well.........not quite up here yet).
Indeed - thanks - I had to look up what an IBC was - I recognise them, but didn't know what they were called :)
Yes, a few months earlier would have been even worse.
We've got two tanks as previous owners converted a barn to a holiday let, so if it carries on I'll be back on here discussing siphoning oil no doubt :)

For those who have the flexibility- coal and solid fuels likely to be the winners for the near term.

I remembered I was supposed to change my Economy 7 to standard variable at the end of last month. Logged in to do it today (British Gas) and they aren't giving the option of changing tariffs. Logged into Compare the Market and they aren't comparing energy tariffs or dealing with them at all currently. Oh ****!

Holy crap @JMP , I am also on kerosene. This is the price graph. It has basically doubled in the past few days.

Brent crude has increased by below 50 per cent in the same period. I smell a rat ...

Heating oil, past 12 months, zero axis.Screenshot_20220308-182717_Google.jpg

Thought the same... cashing in. Also had an email asking why didn't place an order the cheeky feckers.

As of today for 500 litres, Boilerjuice were £783, Tank Topper £721 & Craggs Energy £714. Think I have a months supply left, so hopefully won't regret initially giving them all the middle finger. Heating has gone down to 20 degrees as of yesterday, time to walk round in a blanket or the kids pay more board 😄
