Anybody had a look at the transformers on eBay at the mo? How much do they go for normally?

OK so I didn't cover myself in glory.
Still I am none the wiser. How much is a reasonable price for a STERN transformer?

Don't know if you missed my post but David M aka @alchy had a play on that machine I think it was Wednesday. Give him a shout, I'm sure he'll sing its praises. I actually had a chat to the seller about it too but its not on my want list. Can't help with the price guide but my guess is the price is about right.

With so many pins on the market at the moment I'd say it's a buyers market so £2K to £2.5k for the Transformers with the starting price of £2875 (or more) if you really, really want it...

Yes sorry I got the post about David m. And thank you for the advice on price. Exercise well worth doing as I actually thought that a transformer was worth more than 3k! Thanks

I actually thought that a transformer was worth more than 3k! Thanks

More than £3k is the "sort after" pin territory (eg LOTR, MM, MB, SM) or for one year to two year old Stern's. That said a pin is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it so if people bid on it the price may well go above £3k... but I suspect that's exactly why no one has bid on it.

It plays OK and I the guy asked me it's value I quoted 2500 was about the limit for a transformer Pro.

I was lookin at the transformers very tempted, just can't decide what to buy spiderman batman or transformers! Then again in haylin island at the moment and they have 7 pins here and a really liked south park! But seems to be impossible to find!

I spoke to the owner of the Transformers and she told me she only paid £2700 for it...
I think that's a really good price for a 3 year old Stern.

Easy choice, Batman!

I agree, what's the condition like? Home use, or a bit battered?

So are we saying that unlike other older pinball machines, stern machines tend to go down in value as time goes by? Is it a bit like cars: new ones are expensive, second hand are better value and classic cars become expensive again? That means there is an optimal time when to buy a stern machine. Just need to figure out when it is. And what I want to get.

My TF pro is currently on lend to NERG with sub underneath all be it you can't really hear it because the fish tales nxt to it is rediculously loud, all you can hear is blup blup blup blup blup lol. It's prob my favourite game I've owned or played. I've had some top titles aswell including MM, AFM , Lotr , Tom, SM, BDK and have just getting an Acdc prem and can already say it will be long gone before TF. At that price for me it's a lot of machine for the money. The one thing it is lacking is a good speaker kit as the factory ones are crap.

Agree. I played it for the first time at Terry's last weekend at the Midlands meet and I thought it was a good play. Also enjoyed avatar. so bottom line: where do I find a transformer or similar for 2 to 2.5k???

You won't, since it was made I've only ever seen 2 for sale and I bought one of them. It's very rare maybe for the reason that people don't tend to like it,I'm not sure, but you'll see a dozen SM's , BDK's before another TF.
Think most people don't give it a chance personally, it's a hard game to beat , I'm yet to.
