Ebay Auctions 2014

Pinpedia could also be considered a LOB. It simply shows a few pins that completed the sale process in ebay. That could include shills, so a pinch of salt would apply there.

Take for example, the uber nice AJ pinball MM that seemingly went for sale at £4800. iirc, it 'eventually' sold for much more than that.

I would assume the shilling/etc was static over the year? Unless shilling is seasonal too?

Its only ebay results, is my point. Over half of the A listers on ebay never make the end. People try to snap them up beforehand, and as ebay like to charge a nice final value fee, many sellers choose to go this route. They are cash sales after all.

It's a fact that pin values tend to rise just before the Xmas period. Seen year after year.

However, i would also say that the Post-Christmas Lul Came earlier this year - People that started to try to shift pins from Feb onwards (by the looks of it) have had increasing difficulty. Personally i believe that it's not a case of the bubble that has burst - just people have less disposable income over the last few months, unless they have had a pin to shift on beforehand to patrially pay for their new purchase.

No evidence, just what i have noted going on ebay Daily. Lots of members seem to have reached Saturation point on here too (Lack of Money/Room). Either that or we are all getting more picky, however i think the first is more likely...

So if less people are buying, surely prices will be lower. Like all other markets.

Well that throws a curve ball into the above discussion. 1977 Bally LOST WORLD in "working condition" just went for £321. My absolute maximum budget was £250, but ~£200 was more what I wanted to pay. Considering it had an MPU with corrosion damage, stuck saucer kicker, disconnected slingshot that was blowing fuses and a backglass with more Flake than Cadburys, I think that was a very handsome outcome for the seller!

I wonder if the Bally SPECTRUM due to finish in about an hour from the same seller, this time in "good condition", will top £400?

Previously I've managed to snaffle a few ebay bargains in the summer months. Always put it down to money being tighter with holidays to pay for and people physically being away. Sadly prices then seem to climb back up for autumn. No evidence to back any of this up, just personal experience.

Pretty sure it's a buyers market at the moment if you take out all the dodgy shilled games.

There's something wrong with me. Just been looking at that Maverick and wondering what it's like to play.......

I think Don and Jeff from the pinball podcast are big fans of Maverick. Big DMD's used in Sega pins used to scare me off but not now because of all the substitutes.

It's a good game. Not a great one but pretty good. I would have one again. 17 drop targets! It's a shooters game. You can't just flail. It's better than its reputation would have you believe. The big display is really nice too.

Do it.

Do it.

I know someone who's selling one at the moment :D
Yeah I keep looking at your one for sale, plus your bsd thought they would have gone by now, mrs has agreed I can get one more but will be my last for a while/ever, been watching youtube clips of transformers batman and spiderman for the last hr since getting back from hayling, not to sure on transformers pro at the mo the le looks much better! as does spiderman, batman and your bsd looks awesome!

  1. We admitted we were powerless over pinball - that our lives had become unmanageable.
  2. Came to believe that the Power could restore us to sanity.
  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of Pinball as we understood Him.
  4. Made a searching and fearless inventory of our pinball tables.
  5. Admitted to pinball, to ourselves and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
  6. Were entirely ready to have pinball mania remove all our table's defects.
  7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shorted coils.
  8. Made a list of all plastic sets we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
  9. Made direct amends to such tables wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
  10. Continued to take a pinball inventory and when we were tempted by a popeye or gillian's island promptly admitted it.
  11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with the flipper gods, praying only for knowledge of their will for us and the power to carry that out.
  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to operators and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Terrible description and lacking in photos.

Now I appreciate that the condition of a game can (and should) have an effect on the price. It is acceptable that a HUO version of a desirable game for example can command hundreds more than a worn (ebay mint) example.

How ever, if you are going to list a machine at significantly above what would be considered a reasonable price, then I expect to see hundreds of high res photos, along with a full description of all the restoration work that has ever been done on it, plus maybe some videos.

Of course more importantly, the machine condition would have to reflect the price, and in this case, it would have to be the best Rollergames that has ever been for sale in the universe

You can't just copy and past a half assed description and take a couple of "cant be bothered" photos and expect to double your money
