Neither quotes have me calling him a twat.

First is a question. Probably a rhetorical one.
Second is a statement of fact. Being a member of this forum does not mean you are automatically excluded from anything, there is no correlation between the two.

I guess what this boils down to is insinuation and assumption. Hence, we should all apologize. Others for assuming and me for using language that could easily be viewed as insinuation.

So how do we move on?

I should be more careful with my use of language. I have the empathy of a damp sock, which is often more apparent on forums.
Certain people should assume less and not jump to conclusions.

Still trying desperately hard not to fall victim to this JD, two machines in as many weeks would not be kind to my bank balance! Plus, y'know, eBay.

I keep telling myself I bet the cab art's a decal and the topper's a replica and it's not like it's the only one that'll pop up for sale in this condition or anything and... OOH SHINY http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bally-Mid...e-/111356727692?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

Do it, do it, do it. JD is great ! :D

Not helping! ;) I should cut my teeth fixing up my recently-nabbed DESW first TBH. Can tide myself over with a few games on deleted.record's JD in the mean time since he's only up the road!

Bloody hell, are JD pins suddenly breeding?

Watching bids on the last 10 minutes of that nice looking JD in King's Lynn. It's the same as with most competitive eBay auctions at the last minute, just like the Grand National! :D

Update: Holy crap. The JD went for £1,601. I love that game, and it looked to be in nice shape and well cared for, but someone definitely overpaid IMO! Silly eBay. I'll just wait for the Christmas pin clearout to pick one up. :p

£1,730 for the same bloke's STTNG too. Fair play, they did seem better looked after than most listings but still a bit eye watering.

Hmmmm. I am a little taken aback by the comments. I wasn't aware of this thread until a friend pointed it out. I found it a little sad actually.

@abaxas If you don't agree with my prices or my listing (on here in the for sale section and on ebay) then that's ok, feel free to ignore it or come and have a look to see if you agree with the condition/description, but please don't call me names. I feel it is the best Dr Who i've ever seen, but that's my view and why my price is a high one.

And, for the record, I have been a pinball restorer/repairer/reinventor/modder/hacker/coder for over 20 years and many people on here have bought games off me. All happily i think.

Thank goodness it did go up... I nearly ended up with a second table..... Lol. What was I thinking?

Dunno if the price was excessive or not. IMO it's worth it if it was perfect, mine with all the mods and work must have cost the same but my cabinet is faded and no eagle..... Still surprised it topped £1200 though!

calling some one a twat is well out of order jim is a good guy who does a hell of a lot for the pinball comunity
takes pins to shows every year an all round good guy that would help anybody out with a pinball problem
but with comments like that i doubt he will come on the forum again
what do you do for the pinball comunity abaxas other than stupid posts and coments

The point of the matter is that no-one has called mypinballs a twat. Other than some people assuming I have.

The price was so out of kilter with any Dr Who ever sold on ebay (apart from one machine in the states) that at something needed to be said. The question was if it was worth this amount or that the seller was just someone chancing his/her luck. Ebay is full of con merchants and general twats and when it comes to higher value items, there tends to be even more of them. To think otherwise is naive to the extreme.

Obviously mentioning that a machine is up for £1000 and 42% more than any machine has ever sold on eBay UK is good thing. Any community needs to be self critical and allow differing views. No member should be more important than another and any perceived reputation is only as good as that person's last mistake.

To simplify. People want to play pinball but may not have the technical knowledge/will to maintain the machine or any idea on costs of purchase and maintenance. To not allow the discussion of purchase price is a great dis-service to these people and is in the best interest of the seller, not the pinball hobby as a whole. Remembering that there are many silent members of this community and those who are more vocal should not be viewed as more important.

To simply even further. The newcomer is always the most important person, lets not let them down.

There are few rules on this forum but it will descend into a mess if people think they have a right to be thoughtless.

Unfortunately if it descends into a personal slagging contest then people will be banned. I'll put up with most things, however i'm not a fan of personal insults or people being threatened.

Anyhow, i'm a twat. Use your own insults.... :D

Deleted record and node.
I have a JD for 900.
cab is fair but you dont play the cab :D

playfield fully stripped and rebuilt.
9 new balls, new rubbers, new manny cards, judge dreads back light, new front flipper rebuilds, new gold legs and bolts.
recent dmd.
All plastics and metals cleaned bright, ramps flametorched.
Overall a mint playfield with a ton of leds
All new nuts washers screws plastic protectors and foam taget pads, oh and judge decals.Oh, new translite frame plastics and latch

downside, was working before but possibly where ive connected stuff back ive made an error so balls keep ejecting and flippers dont work.
for someone who knows about these faults, be an easy fix and a great table.
cost me to buy 1050 and spent at least 100

thought id tempt you boys hehe

I have updated my Dr Who thread on this forum for trades as well as sales. Please get in touch if you have something to trade, as my plan before all this sillyness started was to get 1 or 2 early 80s Bally tables (1981 era) for another hardware project of mine as well as recouping some cash for house renovation projects this summer.

I think the best option for anyone wondering if i have priced it too high or whether i am a 'chancer' or 'twat' is come and see me in person, inspect and play the game, see my collection and talk to me face to face... Don't hide behind forums spouting nonsense
