I don't get it, its like they are trying to become some sort of bespoke company offering some sort of high-end product with a 'Ohhh arn't we (and by extension, you if you invest in this pin) special, you have to be invited to buy this!'. I bet loads of these will go to non-pinheads who get a hard on for owning exclusive merchandise.

Sadly it is the way of the world right now. Rich getting richer. Top end stuff sells. Plenty of rich folk wanting to impress their friends

Yup and it will be the end of pinball as we know it if it continues. JJP opened the floodgates for expensive, over-produced games and Stern are rushing through the door after them.
Once it gets to the stage where games are too expensive to buy to put out on site, then the hobby as we know it is done.

I wonder how much better the LE will be than the Premium. Usually it's just alternative artwork, shaker, some aesthetic changes like the chase lights on ST, nothing game changing. Any more difference than that and the BM66 Premium is basically a Pro at a premium price.

LE's sold out with no features info, no pics, no wonder Stern get away with it.

Yes but will they sell anywhere like the number of machines they could have sold with a 5k pro? I'd love to know the breakdown in sales numbers between pro/premium/LE.

Any word on what extras the LE will have?

Still available on Phil's site, non refundable deposit though...

Must resist

Not as many as they thought would drop the cost of a car on a machine without seeing it

Having a laugh with some of the terms
** If you plan to sell the game in the first 18 months Stern Pinball has the first right option to buy the game back.
** Applications and video become the property of Stern and can be used for promotion or testimonial purposes.

Apparently you can apply for the super limited edition Batman 66. That application for is crying out for people to take the ****!

the whole thing is taking the pi5s, why the fu.ck do they think can can make people compete for the right to hand over a wodge of cash and buy something that's unseen and untested? the scarcity is intentional, but scarcity isn't necessarily linked to quality:

Medieval Madness sold 4,016
Gilligans Island 4,100
Super Mario Brothers 4,200
Popeye 4,217
Lethal Weapon 3 10,350
F14 Tomcat sold 14,502

$15,000 for a machine you haven't even seen a picture of:cuckoo:

The facebook thread is amusing with people asking if they will get a refund if Stern fail to release code etc

It is good funny reading at the moment :)

Would love to see what would happen if all 30 owners took them up on the buy back.. How pathetic saying you can't sell it... That's me out in a apprentice type way as a game is lucky to last 18 hours with me let alone 18 months

Its always been the way of the world, since cavemen walked the planet!

If stern want to make and sell something and people want to buy it then thats up to them. There is no political statement here.

Neil.
