Doesn’t seem to be going down well over on Pinside, a lot of owners reporting nothing “new”. Exactly the reason so many worry about Lonnie.
im pretty crap at pinball so code doesn't bother me too much because il never progress too deep into the game....I just enjoy flicking the silver ball around and having a beer !

As do I mate but at these prices it’s nice to get the full works.

Looking at Elwins games, especially Godzilla, you get code for every single penny you spend. Hopefully Lonnie makes this a fantastic game, sounds like the licensor is a real pain in the ass to boot!

First observations:

Great layout but with 3 SDTM drains, one can be fixed with a thicker post rubber, the other 2 I'll have to see.
Scoop is way too easy to hit, the entrance needs making smaller.
The playfield villians, the top one is labelled aka Mr Henderson but shows Blofeld. This is plain wrong and can't be fixed (except for an overlay) as bad as the DE Star Trek where is said JACKJPOT. No amount of code can fix this travesty.
This same mode is still Bath-O-Sub whereas it should be Bathysub (from the greek for depth IIRC), just horrible to look at on screen.

Code, well not going to comment much as it's way too early but it could be a great game and we'll just have to wait and pray Lonnie does more that he usually does...

I think the names are underneath the villians.

That’s what Phil is saying. Mr Henderson is from YOLT.

He was played by Charles Gray in YOLT and later he played Blofeld in Diamonds, so the playfield is incorrect unless it was the licensor as they seem to have dictated everything but allowed this error to pass.

Where’s the pictures people!??

and he was assasinated in YOLT so CANNOT be the same person even with plastic surgery.

Blofeld was also Mr Henderson as an alias, hence the AKA, its a way of having 2 different Blofeld actors on the pf as the villans from different films
Is that canon or just a way around it?

A little like Maud Adams being in TMWTGG and later being front and center in Octopussy. There are others that have doubled up in Bond films.

Just seen your message above.
There are about 4 or 5 actors that have played more than one role in the Bond films over the years.

Brad Whittaker is another he was the general (can’t remember his name) in living daylights and later Bonds buddy wade in Goldeneye.

I get the aka bit meaning its a bit of a tongue in cheek dig at the same actor in 2 roles but it literally does not fit in any Bond cannon anywhere.

I agree mate I saw that when they released the playfield photos at release. No idea why it was allowed when the licensor has been such hard work according to Stern/George.

They should have named him Ernst Stavro and then at least they would read Ernst Stavro Blofeld as you read the inserts top to bottom. Hell Blofeld 2 would have been better.

Nice DE Batman! Don't see many of those :)

For anyone on the fence about Bond and in/visiting London, Funland in the Brunswick Centre has one.

My view on the Bond Pro after 15 minutes of play:
  • The playfield looks much nicer in real life than on pictures. Stern haven’t returned to their MS Photoshop era;
  • The skill shot is reminiscent of DeadPool and the pin has a similar feel in some respects, i.e. some novel shots that need dialling in, but then give a great combination of flow and specific cradle shots. The playfield is a lot less cluttered than Deadpool, however (not necessarily a bad thing);
  • The car with the sunroof VUK is a GREAT toy. Looks much better in person than on a video;
  • The Bondo rocket with drop targets feels a bit like Littl’ Deadpool, but works less well. It takes up a lot of real estate on the top of the playfield, and the ball tends to dribble off the Bondo and trickle out from behind the drop targets. Literally the most unsatisfying thing in the game;
  • The video assets are a bit rubbish in some respects. Some really grim fonts;
  • Code-wise, there’s as much going on as a B/W DMD-era game and, if you assume that’s what you’re getting right now, you won’t be disappointed. I got two different multiballs and they were solid - not amazing, but solid. It might get repetitive if you are a good pinball player playing at home, but a bad pinball player onsite had a perfect good time;
  • Music could do to be more varied (not just a more frantic version of the theme when you get a multiball), but I like the Bond theme so it wasn’t a huge issue.
I personally wouldn’t buy one (right now), and I think I would probably always prefer Deadpool as the entire package, but the playfield feel is above average for a modern Spike 2 Stern and - if the code improves - it may end up in the same league as Deadpool (I appreciate the Katana shot has its fans. Personally, the car makes up for it).

I played the mighty JP2 Prem afterwards for comparison purposes and I prefer that, but I - personally - would rate Bond above TMNT, LZ, Rush and Mando.
