12” vinyl - share your new buys, old classics etc

I think cogs charge though the nose to sell. Might be best try and list some here mate.
I just sold about 300 7” singles on market place. They went dead quick. A lot of collectors use it. Even Vinted do vinyl now.
What’s the main genre of your collection

Market place? On Discogs?

Genres? That’d be all of them, lol. From 1920s jazz, through 50s and 60s easy listening (from parents), blues, Beatles, Stones, Led Zep, lots of reggae, dub, punk, 80s pop, horror soundtracks, lots of spoken word, 90s indie, rap, plenty of techno, trance, drum and bass, grunge, some more modern bits and pieces.

I think the money is in the 70s rock and horror stuff and some selected dance music. I don’t really want to sell the lot, but could probably lose half of them and not notice.

Discogs values between £4k and £12k.

I’ve never sold on cogs personally but some record groups I’m on Facebook say it’s expensive to sell on there.
Market place and Vinted is free.

I’d be keen to see any trance/ house stuff mate. That’s my bag. 12” singles.

Here’s my cogs home page. The spectrum is wide 🤣

Facebook can do one, but I’ll check out Vinted (first I’ve heard of it, lol).

Here’s my page, I sent you a friend request on Discogs. Have a butchers and let me know if you want ‘owt. I have some white label stuff not listed which is mainly Universal Egg but a few others too.

Let's see your Record Store Day 2024 purchases...

Oh God... I've fallen for the vinyl bug..... badly.
Do we have a Vinyl confessional??

Used to have a massive record collection... and left it all behind (not much choice) when i went through my 1st divorce.... 😭
This included 100+ picture discs... that lot would be worth an absolute fortune now!

Most of my childhood music was fairly mainstream. Queen. Dire Straits. Genesis. and lots of others!

Seems like i'm trying to rebuild my childhood (where have we heard that before).

@Paul

It is worse paying out a fortune for things you sold in the 90s for nothing after buying CDs.

But do not fall for the modern repressings. I have a large vinyl collection and have A/B'ed many original 70s/80s pressings with modern represses (even remastered) and I prefer the original.

I wish i had sold it!!! It just got "left behind" in my haste to get out!!

Thanks for the tip. Only modern pressing i have was a must-buy of "the essential foo fighters"... And thats still a "first pressing" of 2022!!

Got some vinyl out yesterday after listening to a cd a mate gave me (Adam & the Ants debut album Dirk wears white sox) and came across a 12” single the was hidden in a slip mat sleeve! Punnany Too Sweet😂

Also pulled out another, one of my sons sent me a Spotify link to Herbsman Hustling the other week and I knew I bought it back in the day.
He was a bit surprised when I showed it to him and put it on as he had been listening to it without knowing I had it on vinyl.

I used to go into the reggae record shops in Harlesden, Ladbroke Grove and Shepherds Bush in the 80’s.
Was always a lovely smell in those places🫠

Lovely pick up mate. 1200’s. Do you mix as well? Gonna get a mixer?
Yes but not on vinyl since the 80’s☺️

My son is upstairs now using them with his Pioneer all in one thing doing some mixing, we both have been using the CDJ’s/DJM’s for years. Told him it was cheating and now he knows why😂 He DJ’s as a side hussle from here to Bristol in venues/weddings which is pretty cool, way better than me.

Not decided on a mixer yet, looking at those rotary ones with the needle vu meters. Always had pioneer mixers but going to try something else with these. If not a rotary mixer probably something like an Allen & Heath Xone mixer. Not rushing as my wife doesn’t know the piano I bought her years ago is taking up valuable space😂

Ahh nice. 👌. I’ve got a pair of 1210’s and a two channel pioneer mixer. My mixes sound like an elephant falling down the stairs in a wardrobe but I love it. 90’s/00’s trance is my vice. Some of those records are getting pricey. I’m the best DJ in my living room assuming I’m the only occupant.
