What pin would you like to see at Pinfest?

What is it with popeye ?
I recently went to the pinball office, and that was the only table I didnt play, I looked at it and thought na !
probably plays ok, but just looking at it puts me on edge 🤣🤣
In this case, next week, Popeye will be out of the office and back in storage.

It's a wonderful thread mate, I was reading it yesterday. Well played 👋👋

Ok, I’m heading to the pinball office this weekend, and I’ll make an effort to play popeye. Who knows, I may even fall in love with it
Make sure you play Popeye because next week it won’t be here anymore. After your previous comment, Popeye felt unloved and unwanted and decided to leave the Club. And move in the opposite building where it can rest in peace. Beside this, it was costing me a fortune in Spinach for every Saturday. He demanded 5 cans of spinach for every hour of labour. That’s 20 in total. Cheeky Popeye! So this will be the last chance to play it. Something new will replace Popeye next week so don’t worry. Hint: it won’t run on Spinach!

If we get a Popeye at Pinfest, I wonder if we can beat the old NLP lock-in queue to play it, @Sgt GrizZ will have a photo somewhere I'm sure!

 NLP 2017 Good times - I believe that was the last pinball show I attended. ....Could never top taking Popeye so no point :D

P3 - heist
Congo
Pinball Circus ( save me a trip to Vegas!)
Spanish Eyes
Adams Family wide body

Legends of Vahalla. I tested about 2018 maybe, helped him with some stuff and it came as a surprise when I saw it on PinHeaven the other week. Looks decent.
oh yes, I love the look of this - if someone has one to bring that would be amazing!

As a newbie I'm looking forward to playing most of the machines, but I am really hoping to see and play,

Black Knight: Sword Of Rage Pro
Total Nuclear Annihilation
Ghost Busters
Swords of Fury
Bram Stoker's Dracula

That's pretty much a copy and paste of my wanted list, in the correct order for now lol

Sgt Grizz your popeye was mine at one time and I still have the swords of fury that I swapped it for. To add to the history I bought the popeye in Hong Kong around 2003 out of the back of a 10 pin bowling alley that was in the old airport building. It was alongside 3 others I bought at same time and they were literally just behind the pins in the alley. It was so noisy in there with all the resetting of the bowling pins. In 2004 I moved to Malaysia and the machine came with me. It was actually smuggled into malaysia as I didn't have a gaming licence that was required to own them in Malaysia. They hid it at the back of the container of furniture along with 4 others and we hoped for the best. Unfortunately customs found it and confiscated it alongside the 4 other machines in same container. They gave me the option of 1. Have them destroyed. 2. Re-export. 3. Pay for them to store whilst i set up a company and licenced the company to run an amusement arcade. Clearly no 3 wasn't going to work and no 1 was last resort. So I had the machines re-exported down to Singapore by the same moving company. They then smuggled the 5 machines back across the causeway from Singapore to Malaysia in the back of somebody else's household contents container. It took about 3 months from leaving Hong Kong to getting the 5 machines including popeye delivered to my house in penang malaysia. Fortunately when I returned to the UK in 2007 customs here just saw them as household contents so I didn't have to deal with the same. In Malaysia I was always in fear that I would get a knock at the door and they would confiscate the machines.

From memory I think it had dm coin slots on it too as did a lot of machines that were in Asia. So it may well have started out life in Germany.

Your popeye certainly has some history.

I would love to see a popeye at pinfest.

And I still have your swords of fury.

Paul
