If turds why don't they come up for sale much, if ever?

Them being turds might just be your opinion. A few games you've called turds I'm sure I've found great fun to play and Congo and Totan looks to be fun. I like wcs, CV and tom so I figure Totan would be great.

In this instance I agree with Neil 😱
I find Totan to be boring and highly overrated. Congo is much better, but it needs tonhave the gorilla under playfield fully working. For 'lesser' players the 50mil skillshot is overpowered.

Of course its my opinion. thats what forums are all about! :D

Folks like these games because they are easy, when we last had a TOTAN at the club I actually gave up my third ball at league I was so bored with playing it. From the Papa tournament guide:

"Skillful players will be capable of battling the genie for a significant amount of time. If the feed out of the pop bumpers is consistent and controllable, players will repeatedly shoot the left orbit and build Harem multiball to high levels, exposing a scoring imbalance and making the game extremely long playing and monotonous. Tales of the Arabian Nights is a good game in competition for Juniors banks or less skilled players, but it will be abused as the talent level increases and should not be used in any tournament where top-level players will have the opportunity to play it unless significant modifications are made." Congo is slightly better but still not great.

Congo 2129

Both tend to be priced high and you then are paying for rarity rather than quality.

You should have realised by now that Neil frequently talks out of his backside. Totan is a great game, just easy to complete for good players, bit like Monster Bash so get bored of it quicker than others.

Congo is rarely seen and a tougher challenge so lasts the distance..... got one here but it's not mine. Maybe a marmite theme but it's a great play.

Had the chance to buy one a few years back and always regret not having the cash at the time. Owner had two and both ended up out of the UK unfortunately, I believe there's one other in the UK somewhere....

For me, Eldorado City of Gold but firmly believe after years of searching there is none over here so very unlikely to be at Pinfest 😄
 
Same here with the Defender i remember ringing Chester Pete only to find he'd sold it the previous week. :(

Don't worry John you'll find your City of Gold - just a case of shipping one over from France.

That's the 'one' still around so I'm told... and whatever happened to Chester Pete.

Not sure to be honest i think it was 2009 when i rang. I think he sold most / all of his pins.

Oh man you must be gutted about that, always the way though with cash flow when you are younger with a family☹️

Didn't know about Eldorado, like the look of that even with the lack of footage available😱
 
I can't get to my Defender but lm probably bringing SOLAR FIRE and FOUR MILLION BC along with the usual crowd pleasers

I'm hoping to take Genesis, Victory, Arena (if it ever arrives), TX and Monte Carlo but would want them all in the public area so everyone can enjoy the Gottlieb love 😍

I had Defender theme for the Psych Tent at the Slam in 2011 😁

The pin I think was Wills one at the time , which may well have come from Chester Pete ?? Could be wrong. All a while ago now.

 
@Chester_Pete was on here for a time. You can still find old posts by him.

It's amazing how many requests there are for machines that have already appeared at Daventry over the years. One year I took 2 Stargates and sold them both, another year I remember playing a defender in the team tournament.

Oh and if totan is set up properly it can be a difficult game to reach the wizard mode. Not sure anyone did when we had one at SWL for a while., very much like monster bash.
