Virtual pin options in the UK

I sent as 300 DPI Tiffs in both RGB and CMYK. Quality is good but I think they either printed the front in the wrong format or their printer was out of ink cause the front was missing all reds. They are sorting tho and full took responsibility for their cock up, sods law I had the issue with the fire button anyway as well. I think the money it'll cost them to have it sent back to them and sent back out again they won't want this issue to happen again cause changing the decals is a big faff cause everything is glued on.

We went for a custom Creature machine as its my wife's favourite. I still have the top part so you can see the printing came out pretty well everywhere else. Blacks are a bit blue but is a good level of detail.

Couple of cheap upgrades I can recommend, rubber feet for the legs (you'll need to buy something else like a 20p rubber nut to get the order over a tenner):
https://www.pinball.co.uk/.../rubber-shoe-for-bottom-of.../
And I'm going to replace my plug with a switched one; when you turn the machine off the LEDs stay on until you unplug it so this solves that problem if like in my setup you can't switch it off at the wall cause it's on an extension with some other electronics. https://amzn.eu/d/3i0VdNd

That's dope. I also noticed they've just started offering a CTBL artwork as one of their options (no example image though). Wondering if that's yours.

How did yours end up, you happy?
Mine has been delayed a few weeks, last update was I should receive it this friday.

Yeah I'm pleased with it in the end. I will say to get the most out of it you should expect to learn a bit about how the software works. Get yourself a wireless keyboard with a trackpad and a wifi dongle, also helps if you get a usb extension wire that you can run through the grill at the back. I went through and favourited everything I cared about, then checked around and updated every table that required it. I only ever really run the favourites list now A lot of the tables they supplied have more recent versions available now. A few tables I found I had to change the POV too, such as Cirqus Voltaie because of the Ring Master being too top down. Once I updated in pinup popper you only really need a wheel image and a full DMD for any new games you install. Then when I'm actually running the system I record the playfield, backglass, and DMD so they look nice when scrolling through. Oh, I also stuck some small rubber pads (the kind you put on the bottom of chair legs) where my solenoids contacted as they were a bit clicky and this makes them more thuddy.

Still got a bit to learn but I'm getting there. You don't have to do all this but learning how to keep things updated is only gonna improve your enjoyment.

So I've just bought a 2nd hand RecRoomWorld Ultra VP 7.5. Does anyone have any tips for moving it, its a heavy large beast. Do you think you could move it in an SUV or would you rent a man and van? Anything I should check for on pickup, it's stated to be in effectively brand new condition and still has lots of warranty left.

Would be the same tips as for an actual Pinball machine, a man with van would be fine. I think have a look on the main forum as there are various suggestions for how to move pinball machines and I think I saw someone offers a service. Mine isn't full sized and I certainly couldn't move it myself.
In terms of what to check for, I'd say its just a case of turning it on and playing through a few tables and seeing if it seems to be working the way it should be. From having mine from Pinballia for a few weeks now, virtual pinball is a hobby that requires a lot of tweaking. I've now around 160 tables working very well but it took me a lot of time downloading latest updated, learning the software and tweaking things like POV and sound settings. So what I'm saying is some tables may play better than others when you first get it but you can work on improving things for most of them.

I have had to update all my software to latest versions in order to run some tables but what I haven't had to do is tweak any hardware stuff, such as solenoids etc... So Id say that's what you're paying for when buying a prebuilt cabinet, you want your hardware to be working as it should. The software you work on yourself.

My cabinet arrived from pinballia, had a couple of snags I had to fix, but I am really happy with it.
Been playing a lot of strangers things.
It's the full size, 43inch with all the addons.

Some good stuff coming from Zen pinball on Dec 12th 🎉

Zen Pinball World being released on mobile devices, every table free to try with ads or you can buy them (iPad is superb for virtual pinball)

Also Pinball FX being released on the switch but finally any previous purchases in FX3 will be honoured & therefore free/included.

That looks sweeeet. I went to the showroom and tried them and was extremely surprised about how much my partner liked them. She no longer thinks I'm an idiot, in this regard.

Didn't have the 43 inch model but I'm leaning that way as they had 32 and 49 oled and the backglass was just so much more impressive on it (it's the size of the 32 inch table lol) and 32 felt a bit small. Also looks so much better with the true size coin door as opposed to the smaller ones they had pictured on their site.

They had a couple they were building and I was very impressed with the workmanship and tidiness of the internals.

Probably a bit late to the party here but it came up in a pinballinfo email summary I just received! Anyway...... if anyone is interested......

I just finished my second build - a 32" 4k 3/4 size virtual pinball. As a result i'm selling my first build 24" HD gaming monitor (with 16" backbox monitor), zero delay flippers, haptic feedback by way of a bass transducer, includes a Mini Gaming PC set up with VPX (and FX but probably can't share that as it's linked to Steam), high spec components for speakers etc - if anyone is interested I can share more details / photos / videos. It is a really fun machine with zero delay on the flippers, it packs quite a punch for a smaller size pin! Let me know if interested. I'm near Oxford. Cheers

ps. i've since made a lockdown bar from wood, painted black

If you're interested, this is the current state of my Pinballia cabinet:
(I meant "extra ball" button not ball save button!)
You can see how many updates I've done. I updated all software and all tables I use.
Nice, like how you've got it set-up so the previews match the ingame. I wonder have you spent more time setting it up or playing?

Oh absolutely at first I was spending a lot more time getting it the way I wanted and learning how it all worked, but that to me was part of the fun of having it. Now I make a point to actually play the thing. My wife enjoys playing it too so she's had the luxury of just having it all set up for her. There will be very few new tables added going forward, more just a few updates I suspect. It's now very quick for me to add new tables or update them anyway. Future Pinball is the area I'm least knowledgeable about but I still managed to update it and run the few TerryRed tables on there that are worth it. I just don't know how to tweak those tables as much but they're fine really.

Said it a billion times but worth saying again, 4k and high resolution doesn’t make the game look or play authentic, high fps does. It enables authentic tracking of the ball at high speed and of realistic movement of light across the playfield. Don’t invest in pixels if you can’t afford to refresh those pixels quickly or it’ll look like a photorealistic Amiga pinball game.

I started building one years ago and then settled on a portrait monitor I sourced for it and a separate DMD panel. Runs at 165 FPS at 2k - called it good hah. Get all the gameplay and never had to worry about the rest.

are you seeing much difference between 120FPS and 165?

Maybe it's the video but it looked like the 32inch version?
How much did you get it for? What gfx card did it come with?
Its definitely the 43 inch its huge the backglass is 32 inch, has HD matrix, blower and top IPS.

Card is a 4060ti 8GB (not the 4070 super in current models but its a year old)

I paid 3.5k

nice, as ant said looks same size as my 32inch, not that it's a problem really!
Glad you're enjoying it! I play mine pretty much every day.
If you're interested in getting involved in the tweaking and updating of new tables a few things I'd recommend:

I use this to find tables https://virtual-pinball-spreadsheet.web.app/

It's likely for some of the more recent tables you'll want to update the software, I followed this link and am happy with everything I've done: https://github.com/vpinball/b2s-bac...3-x2dHrPKZ5A4nMnPA_aem_zvoZYfcFKFrqNvNHvJnrxg

Heads Up one thing I know nothing about is the DOF as I don't have any LEDS so I left that part out.
this facebook group helps keep you up to date with new releases: https://www.facebook.com/groups/worldofvp

It will take a little while but honestly its worth learning how the main stuff works as if you're a tweaker like me. Part of the fun of it is keeping up to date with new tables.

Watch the software videos made by this guy and you'll learn a lot:

I run around 200 tables on my cab and deleted most everything else apart from Pinball M and Pinball FX from the playlists as they clutter the cabinet. All the Visual Pinball Tables I run have been updated to more recent versions than were supplied by Pinballia
There are very few Future Pinball tables that are worth playing over the visual pinball versions. Terry Red makes incredible Future Pinball tables though, so once you're confident you may want to update your Future Pinball and get his latest masterpiece, Masters of the universe.

Or ignore me and don't worry about all that and just enjoy it as is! :)
I happen to love how my cabinet runs now with all the new stuff I added but that's cause it suited my needs to do so. The average virtual pinball player is a big tweaker because it's hard to get the software working in the first place. But one of the benefits of buying it all installed and running is you don't need to do that. Heads up though, a lot of virtual pinball players will look down on pre built cabinets because they come supplied with software that is free to the community. I try to balance it out by being a paid subscriber to vpinuniverse

Got yourself a bargain. Half the cost of mine. Even at full price I think they are well worth it.

Mine does suffer very occasionally with micro ball stutter, usually within first starting the table so it seems to be a caching issue. Although occasionally can be at other times.
at some point I'm going to upgrade the vpx version as all the gfx settings seem to be optimal and I'm trying to play on it rather than spending time tinkering, which is why I paid someone else to do this time!

Thanks mate very thorough. Im 6'2" heres a sense of scale. I did try the 32 inch in stoke and it felt a lot smaller but its hard to see in video (not necessarily a bad thing, can keep more of the playfield in view).

Its really made me notice how much flipper lag there was playing future pinball on my phone or steamdeck, these flippers are flipped long before i can fully engage the button.

Absolutely loving it, going to just play it in my days off then look into configuring it.

Ive bought a Kinect 2 and looking at setting up BAM for some 3d goodness.

Yeah i was considering buying this one, theres a couple of differences but honestly couldnt justify the 3.2k extra it would have costed for a bit better GPU and the double coin door they now add.

Ill upgrade the GPU and CPU in time anyway.

total bargain. Before you worry about upgrading any hardware, you may be fine with what you have. The ultimate test is terry red's MOTU, this is currently the most advanced virtual pinball table available. It runs pretty much fine on my HD cabinet, just a little bit of slow down when all 10 balls come out in multiball for obvious reasons, but I turned off an option for ball shadows when that happens and it's pretty much fine now:

If you can run that then you won't have any problems with anything else.

Thats a sweet looking table, thanks mate i'll definitely try that out.

If i did upgrade anything itd probably be when the next gen is out and prices decrease.

Not seen any lag so far, some long loading times but I think thats par for the course.

this is link once you're ready. Involves updating future pinball but isn't too hard. Everything is explained in the many included guides Terry has included.

if you like star wars as shown by your cabinet gfx his star wars table is also amazing
