Taking the side rails off today.. have procrastinated on this for a few days because I was a bit scared about damaging the cabinet...

Changed mine and tz for shiny chrome, looks ace, powder coating is where it’s at now - TWD and Iron Maiden in the queue.
That’s typically plastic, but you can buy metal versions.

So TWD needed some work doing on it today - just a bit of a clean as well as some inspiration from @robotgreg and fitting the gift from @steve brum
I thought I kept my machines very clean but... apparently not...
Note the ramps and the artwork underneath from the before picture.
Fitted this little beauty - I think these are a must have for home use.
Think it came up nicely again - again note the ramps - they are slightly tapered and require some stern (get it) attention to clean up. Of course, a nice coat of wax too.
I thought this might make it unplayable for a bit, but apparently the machine loved the attention

Not to leave any of the ladies out (well apart from my wife) - SS had a few things done today.
- Fitted new “home use” lock (again thanks @steve brum)
- Rebuilt flippers - I had completely lost the EOS “arm” on the left flipper giving me a tech error
- Fitted other protector next to crate
- Cleaned and waxed playfield and cleaned plastics
- Changed flipper rubbers

Slowly putting my TAF back together after a failed powder coating job. Fitted the apron back on, had to sand down the 2 prongs that go under the catches at the front as it wouldn't fit after the whole thing had been coated. Also had to sand down the holes where the cage nuts go, and even the rubber stopper. Frustrating work really....
Not happy with the decals I ordered from America. They were supposed to be thin to try and get close to the OEM screen printing, but they turned out to just be stickers which are fairly thick and have a white edge.
Don't know what to do about that, for now I'll have to lump it.

Finally got WPT within touching distance of it being where I am happy with it.
- changed out LED panel to LED tube.
- resolved issues with drop target (previously)
- resolved light issues
- cleaned upper playfield
- cleaned and waxed playfield
The LED tube was plug and play from amazon for about £6 - let me know if anyone is interested and I’ll post the link. I think it looks great.

Mr Mrs Pacman left diverter gate was missing the shaft, wire gate and pivot cam. A while back I found a bit of stainless rod in an old printer that fitted the bushing and bodged a cam out of an old CNC coupling. Today I decided to finally finish the shaft and gate off. I need to reattach the plastic bushing to the baseplate but thats a tomorrow job.

Thanks.... And finished. Riveted the bushing back on using the DIY semi-tube rivet press (it still needs to be refined). Now i just need to finish the playfield, build it a cabinet, fix all the boards and get it flipping.
Small potatoes but a big deal for me. My 2nd ever ramp removal... and fitting glow in the dark rubber which was totally my idea and definitely not shamelessly stolen from @Spandangler ..
LED pop bumper rings installed too which made the ramp a very tight fit.
Not being able to pull the playfield out was a massive pain in the balls in terms of getting access to stuff, not made any better by me recovering from a broken rib

Under pressure to make the games room less pinball focused, moved 1 pin to the house, this is unheard of.. Particularly in the lower hall!.
Moved 3 pins to the office, pending sale, moved the woodies out too, pending arrive of 2 jap vewlix....

also put mirror blades in Dialed in - that was a big fat waste of time LOL
Got around to fitting @myPinballs Mod Power Expander board in my TAF.
Backbox space is very much at a premium with GI and LED OCD taking up the places it could logically go. Ended up making a wooden plinth for it to sit on, so there wouldn't be any holes added, and fixed it to the side of the cabinet*, along with a thin cable tidy at the base to run the ColorDMD and other mod wires through.
The reason it's up high is that the upgraded speakers I've got fit in the space below, which would make it impossible to plug anything in to the connectors.
* I screwed up the first time I fitted it, by using far too much double sided tape and also fitting it right up against the wooden block that the speaker panel hooks go over. Cue a lot of ranting and raving and blood, sweat and tears to pull it off and start again.

Been tinkering with PinballSP's DMD Magic Editor in anticipation of his 128x16 colour DMD release. The user manual is great (79 pages!) describing right through how to capture DMD frames from Visual Pinball through colour editing in Magic Editor. I'm capturing in VP from Chads V5 ROMs (thanks @Paul). Changing basic pallets is easy but this makes me appreciate the artistic skill of the colour DMD guys - it could get distasteful real quick
