i’d strip that off and prep the pf to the bare wood and level, sand and polish the inserts. new overlay and it will be pretty good. or wait for a cpr pf

At the price it's likely to go for, as well as sanding back the cabinet and re-stenciling, it's too much surely.

seller just confirmed it’s not an overlay. says it’s original. if so that’s a pretty good nick SI pf
41 years old Hmmmm.

Mine at 40 years old.

My mate Neil sold his beautiful completely original one for £3750 and he had a number of people interested at that price if I remember right. My guess is that was non pinheads who wanted a very nice, reliable machine, which it was.

I know you sold yours for a lot less than that Alan, which I thought was a bargain at the time with all the work you put in.

Will be interesting to see what this one goes for. Looking at the photos I'm pretty sure the playfield is original and in pretty nice shape in my opinion

From the space Invaders Seller:

New message from: baddowfineart (18YELLOW_STAR Star)

I'm not sure what those are. They won't come off with polish. Someone has told me that it's probably been touched up in some areas and the paint (or whatever) has smeared.

cheers. what’s the purple / black marks on many of the white numbered inserts?

hi any chance of a better pic of the middle of playfield. it just looks a bit odd but could be the lighting. many thanks.
baddowfineart:
It is the original as there is certainly nothing stuck over the top. An overlay I assume would make the playfield look perfect, which it isn't. It's very good for the age but doesn't look like it just came out of the factory.

hi is the playfield original or is it an overlay ?

there seems to be a scratch on that playfield as well just right of the clone chamber, the seller has photographed it on the listing though,so he's not trying to hide it,I would imagine one of the rectifier board bridges needs replacing,if it is blowing fuses on start up,but without seeing the machine in person who knows,it could just be a short somewhere

I picked up the DE Jurassic Park listed on eBay late last night if anyone saw it. Not booting and needs to be rescued. 2014 batteries have leaked but i don’t think that is the issue. Playfield will clean up nice.
Nice, looks like it had a bit done to it!
Mods on the scoops for example 😁

Both pteranodon too, mines missing one🥲

Great buy, I offered £2k but the next minute it was taken off eBay 🥴

Apologies - I did pay a fair price for a non-worker (£1900) and had a lot of communication between 11.00 and midnight. Pick up pretty much immediately might have sealed it.

Mines got a cliffy there which suits the game at least.

2.5k is good if working imo

Book keeping totals cleared all the time?? Batteries out or a bigger issue?
I messaged the seller about the factory setting message, asking if batteries removed, still in there or any leakage. He works away so can't answer, doesn't know where to look anyway and said as it's from the 1980's so there's bound to be some faults. That's me out.

I love that.
None of my games have faults and only owned pinball for nearly two years.
Long enough to know when someone hasn't a clue

Pure salesman in the auction but get an element of truth when messaged. Nice.
