Anyone have any thoughts on this Data East The Simpsons?
I like the look of it but I can’t find any recent sales to help me align price expectations for this. I’m guessing not too expensive since Stern TSPP is a lot more popular. (I think the super early artwork on the Data East game is kind of cool though, a fun relic of early Simpsons-mania!)

Great game but the first price is more sensible considering the average condition and issues.
yet another Covid cuckoo price. Its my favorite Sega but still a 2k game.
I'm going to be controversial and say Starship Troopers is the ONLY good Sega game
(before the Baywatch people get upset, Baywatch was designed by and made entirely out of Data-East parts, with a Sega logo photoshopped on)
Starship Troopers is actually the game that got me into pinball. they had one at St Annes pier that I would play weekly. I though the moving target and the popup-brainbug was amazing back then

I love X-Files, Goldeneye, Frankenstein,Independence Day, Godzilla amongst other Sega games. Everyone has different favourites which is one of the things that keeps this hobby interesting .I'm going to be controversial and say Starship Troopers is the ONLY good Sega game

I quite like the addition of it , keeps you on your toes and iirc you score double or kill double aliens or something when you make a shot with it ??

Yeah - because though the machine rewards this based on the switch activation you can cheat it by just hitting the flipper button regardless of whether you used the little flipper.

Damn, I'd of gone to 3.
I played this a few weeks back for first time and enjoyed it more than I expected, simple to learn hard to score big, outlanes are brutal and seems to be all about the left ramp but hitting drops and pops the callouts and sounds are fun. Definitely better than I expected and one of the better DE I've played, probably top 5 DE's. I'd like own one at some stage but I'd have thought 2.2 to 2.5k personally
Its one of my old machines, New magnet, playfield rubbers, flippers rebuilt playfield and ramps cleaned and waxed, really miss it, the little flipper makes some of the harder shots easy-once you've got the hang of it, to be honest i'm tempted to buy it back.

Playfield looks rough for £2800 imo….
EBay has removed the two sale links to ones that sold in November 2024- rough project one went for £1900 ish and a better one for £2800. This seems steep despite the theme- love the Simpsons theme but would sooner have a DE Star Wars for this type of money or LAH

Oh I don't disagree that 2.2-2.5 is what it's worth. I'm talking in the funny money people are still trying to sell Data Easts.
And I didn't see that playfield.
Agreed. There is also wear on the usual places the waterfall and moe. Think moe has been painted also.
So just in case someone here bought it I have a full playfield overlay if they would like it
