The eBay Auctions / Facebook / Gumtree / Shpock 2025 thread

I see EBay have started rolling out their latest wheeze adding the Buyers fees to listings. So all those unsold pins sat forever are even less likely to sell now at the new higher price 😅

Postage is still a bargain though. 😊

Looks like they are not adding buyers fees to the postage amount, queue loads of sellers listing pins for 1p with £4000 delivery. No Collection.

Only for private sellers. Makes it easy to spot those business sellers who pretend to be private.

It’s a **** show. I’ve removed all my pinball parts from eBay. It’s just cr a p

Ebay shooting themselves in the foot with the add-on prices. Anyone wanting to sell below a price point ie £999 now has to calculate this before posting. Puts me right off even more. £4086. 72 for a £4000 machine, grabbing b*stards.

This is the dumbest way of doing fees. Now I am going to have to go through and edit 100+ listings to manually edit the price down so that the total is back to what it was before the bolt-on fees. It would have been more sensible to just go back to taking their cut out of the total if that's what they want

Yeah it’s ridiculous . Not least because now prices look mental 🤷‍♂️

Wtf are they thinking. I’d rather it was just sellers fees again than this dogs dinner. Be interesting to see how long this lasts - can’t imagine anyone is happy with it .

But you’ve benefitted from no fees if you’ve somehow got away with private rather than business seller status. They’re now after any private seller who seems they can tag as a business sellers

Also pointless doing free postage now, something they promoted for a while saying they would prioritise listing's with free postage.

They’ve ****ed up trying to rival vinted. It all started with used clothes and they then thought they could corner a market with no fees, but their business sellers kicked off big style , and it cost them a lot of lost revenue, so then they thought let’s follow on more the vinted model and do buyers premium to pacify the business customers and get some income back fromThe private sellers.

26 years on ebay and I’ve decided to leave.

I’ve listed my Outrun pcb tonight so heres how it looks as a seller. And i had to adjust my starting price down to £287 to get it under the £300 mark. Originally entered £300 as my starting price then when I checked the listing it had bumped it up to £312.72.

I think £6500 is strong money for that taf. Really nice ones are around the £7-7.5 mark.

Where are the 7k nice ones?
I only see over priced chancers on ebay and dealer sites
Pretty sure there was a nice original one sold on here last year for £7 something.

Any higher than that must be super mint restos imo.

Had a search, there was a ****ty "Restored" condition one for £12k a couple of years ago. It did get slated though.
Maybe mistaken then. The one from tilt sold for £6750 end of 23.
Just don’t see the value when theres 20 odd thousand out there, but then again this is pinball 🤷‍♂️

Personally I think its overrated but people seem to want it more because its what they played back in the day, that sort of thing always seems to push up the values.

That £12k one was an absolute joke.

FFS 😡

At some point you have to wonder if they are putting in more effort to scam people than it would take to run a legitimate business ?
There plenty of people out there who don't understand unfortunately I was caught out at the very beginning 💩
