Hi Simon.

Thanks for the reply. Budget to me is sub £1k - which seems a drop in the potential ocean! I have indeed had a snoop and unless I am real fortunate, I may need to rethink unfortunately. Either that, or succumb to an arcade1up or AtGames!
Unless you live in the middle of nowhere, I’d recommend playing on location instead of getting a sub-par virtual experience. £1k buys you a lot of real pinball on a wide variety of machines! I do have an EM machine at home but the vast majority of my pinball is on location, at clubs (like Special When Lit or Pinball Republic), and at tournaments. If you don’t know your local pinball machines very well then take a look on pinballmap.com (also comes in app form)

For virtual pinball at home on a shoestring, you can play Pinball FX on PC or any major games console. Zaccaria Pinball is also on consoles and has all of their weird and wonderful machines (small charges apply). There is also the Williams Pinball mobile app which has most of their famous 90s tables like Medieval Madness, Theatre of Magic etc. and you can unlock all of the tables for free if you grind the daily challenges enough.

Hi Everyone,
Rediscovering my love for pinball after many years in the wilderness. (It’s been about 30 years). I suppose my first pinball love was the Addams family all those years ago back at University. I never could afford one until recently where I have taken the plunge, and I’m hoping to welcome an Addams family into the house in the next few weeks. I’ve also played the Godzilla pinball and I’ll be trying to get my hands on one of those (the premium version) as soon as Stern start making the colour model again in 2025. Looking forward to getting as much advice as I can.
Warm regards
Jetfish

New to this forum but not new to pinball. Spent far too much in pubs over the years on pinball and when I finally had a house with the space I bought a few machines. Fast forward 20 odd years and we are now thinking about downsizing so looking to move on some of the toys.

Andrew

Hi all. It's Gerry here new in the pinball world. Going to purchase my first pinball machine. Dreamt of one ever since I first played Playboy pinball in the early 80's as a teen.

Hi, my name is Maria and I have been playing pinball only since November last year. I got addicted after visiting the Dutch Pinball Museum in Rotterdam during a cruise. I live in the lovely English Riviera, in Torquay and we have the vpinball from Pinballia at home.

I have been lurking around the forum for a while, but finally I decided to create a profile and introduce myself.

My favourite machine ever is Monster Bash, and I have already attended a few tournaments/events in the UK and in the US.

Welcome Maria, it’s been a pleasure to play against you and Eduardo over the last few months, long may it continue!

Hello!

My name is Nathan and I'm 44. Recently rediscovered playing pinball, as my favorite game growing up was Indiana Jones as I loved the mech that bounced back and forth. Decided to build a virtual machine and did a test theory and have the monitors all set up but no box but then that lead to buying a Venom and a Deadpool a month later. Now I have gone off the deep end and learning to work on older machines as I want to grow the collection. I currently have a BK 2000, Bride of Pin Bot, and Williams Star Trek I am working. Teaching my self how to repair the boards, work on playfields and repair cabinets. I love things that push me to learn and challenge my brain. Will most likely have tons of questions as I take this journey to learn what I am seeing as a dyeing art working on these amazing amazing machines and works of art. Looking forward to wealth of knowledge already on this site and looking forward to receiving tutelage info when needed.

Nice to Meet you all.

Hi Nathan, welcome, sounds like you’ve gone hard into the hobby!

I can see from your profile that you’re based in Texas, the majority of people on this forum are based in the UK. Obviously should still be helpful technical info but maybe not so good in terms of machines / parts for sale, where you’d probably want to be on Pinside.

Simon,

Thank you so much and yes I saw that but to be fair the info I found on this site for Bride Of Pinbot I think will help me get the Head Motor turning so wanted to be where ever I can find knowledge. I am also on Pinside for the state side. Just google searches for info lead me hear. I look forward to any technical knowledge that can be shared.

Hello everyone. Noobie to owning a pinball machine, but definately not to playing them. Mis-spent much of my youth in arcades (late 70s/early80s) LOL. Just bought my first machine - a Bally Space Invaders - and I'm loving it! Having a minor issue with the credit button, but I'll post that question on a more appropriate thread. Looking forward to gaining as much knowledge as I can. Jeff
