It may be "rare" however there's a ceiling on everything, and i think this may be a little high!!!

Ooooohh an Airborne, you don't see them very often :) Too much money though and you'd definitely need to go and give it a proper once over based on the seller...parts will not be easy to come by if it's got broken or missing bits!

Wow all your information and advice guys is amazing. I've been watching YouTube videos of tables for hours now. Keep coming across TNT.... Anyway - Hs2 looks really good. Demolition Man looks quite good too. I notice now JD has no bumpers(am I right)? Isn't it a must to have bumpers for a good pinball game? Airborne could be expensive to maintain by the looks of it.

I must admit. I love bumpers. WW has six of them. But some great games don't have them. Swords of fury and shadow (I think). They can interrupt flow. gottlieb have a feature which allows you to kill the bumpers by pushing both flipper buttons to release the ball. But they do personify pinball and when you think of pinball, you generally think bumpers.

Correct shadow has so much else going on you don't even notice no pops

Thanks for the link.
Looks a bit iffy to me. But if not then we'll done whoever got it. Probably someone who will be flipping it soon for a profit.

It's a good job the mechanisms have been oiled recently - you can't beat a bit of oil (or WD40) to help your pin work smoothly :)

Ha ha, good point dean - and if you run out of butter, you could always try some jam to really get that breakfast vibe going!

On a serious note, on my Hurricane someone the seller seriously thought it would be a good idea to OIL the drive belt for the ferris wheel when it started slipping (instead of adjusting it), and in the end I neede to replace both the belt AND mechanism as I could not get the oil off.

Oh :-(

I've obviously got the wrong end of the stick. I've been smearing mine with ghee since I got it.

Thanks for all the replies. I saw the JD one on eBay but when I phoned the guy he said that he wasn't around to show me the table before the end of the auction but claims that it's all in great condition. Says he hasn't done anything to it and has owned it for 7 years.... Said a few ppl had come round and said it was in good nick and the play field looks good etc. perhaps I should be suspicious if I can't see it, however even if I win the auction and isn't as described I can walk.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Judge-Dre...ames_Coin_Operated_MJ&hash=item2c80fcfeea
Would love to find someone who knows more than me to help me look it over or point me something better. I'm based in Kingston Surrey.

I was actually one of the people who went to look at it since it was local to me too (I'm over in Surbiton). It looks like it ended early so part of me is wishing I'd made him an offer last Monday when I went to see it! Someone else clearly did so today.

The playfield was definitely in very nice condition, just a bit of wear around the launch ramps. DMD perfect, faded cabinet art but that's pretty common, no mods. Everything seemed to be working, although he had rusty balls in there (!) and there was some rust on a few ramps. I didn't get a chance to check for battery leak or run any tests, that's a lesson learned for the next time I look to buy one. It definitely needed a good clean too, lots of dust on the glass and underneath. He also lifted the playfield without removing the balls or checking the crane wasn't getting stuck before I managed to stop him which made me cringe, no idea if that caused any damage though.

I know it has a very mixed reputation but I'm still dead set on getting a JD for my first pin - I know there are simpler pins to maintain (though it's not the worst either), but I just love the theme and feel of the game! I keep telling myself I'm probably better off buying from within the community - even if that ends up costing me more it'll certainly be better maintained! :)

Won't necessarily cost more buying on here, often works out cheaper although don't be fooled into thinking that it's a guarantee that there will be no issues, just because someone is a member on here does not automatically make them straight up.

That Mario is very clean I sold it to the guy last year for £750 on ebay so good luck to him I say. Think I made about £50 on that deal but it's not the best game and needed the space. It's got a full set of no Flix LEDs.
