Mrs and I are so disappointed.
We were talking about getting an LE this time last year.
I would have paid 16k TBH but would have wanted full theme integration etc….
I’ll have to settle for my wall art for now 🙁

With Lonnie on code your going to have to pray you get any theme integration.

I also don’t get that rear facing scoop, such a waste of real estate, a little subway or 180 ramp would have been so much better. It’s like Stern took the sh*test scoop/saucer they ever made on stranger things and thought we can make it worse!

Looks like the Gomez game is going to be rare , not as rare as Neil’s 60th but still lol
No chance Stern are banging out half a dozen runs next year and likely for 3-4 years at that.

If Lonnie and Mike get the code to good/great levels, more will sell. At the minute it’s a 9-11k gamble on the game as a whole until code is fleshed out more.

You’ve also got some people hanging back for the inevitable Goldfinger LE Gomez teased if sales were good which they seem to be stateside, a couple of distributors have said it’s selling really well. Even the Aussies seem to be lapping it up at the insane new prices they are paying.

Goldfinger edition- Stern will have to fork out for the rights to the song.. apparently too expensive to get for current run…

Goldfinger edition, with no Goldfinger…

Goldfinger without soundtrack is kinda poor.
Gomez said you have to add DIY…but again… my point .. no integration

And you think that will stop Stern from making it? it’s just a matter of time and like they say 3rd times the charm so maybe they could launch this version of Bond without it being a complete train wreck

Let’s hope this is going to be a lesson learned for everyone
Greedy stern
Greedy distributors
And silly customers who are willing to fork out stupid money on something unseen
But this has to be a group effort customer s saying I have had enough I am not doing it anymore
Distributors telling stern I am not going to have games forced upon me that I cannot sell
Can’t see the game price coming down but it will stop all the stupidity
The FOMO really has to stop covid times are over and harder times are upon us

Well, I was hoping to make a 3D-printed topper for my Alien Poker at some point, but was worried it wouldn’t be high quality/exciting enough.

Luckily, Stern have put my mind at rest…
Stern should have put more effort into this topper, correct gun barrel for a start, I don’t believe the licensor excuse for everything Stern are trying to pass off as not lazy.

Decent lighting that isn’t dull and grey and would it have been hard to put something in on a little motor to replicate the blood effect on the gun barrel, Christ a motored screen wouldn’t have cost the earth.

Personally I don't care about toppers because the mancave ceiling is prohibitively low 🤣.

However I do understand why a lot of folk are miffed. Stern is going to be an interesting watch in the near future.

Whilst they might have sold out of 60th editions I'm quite sure the price rise in base models coupled with hard times will impact sales.

I also wonder if others beating them on affordability will impact market share?

That being said I do think the Gomez 007's will be excellent and I'll look forward to playing one.

I wonder if the £ prices will come down slightly now the £ has risen a bit. The Stern price increases are one thing but at least they are stable. Not knowing if something might be cheaper or more expensive later due to currency fluctuations has me second guessing buying anything.

I never cared or thought about it on my other machines so maybe it's just that I don't want anything enough right now to commit and not care.

I think Gary will have to step back in after a year or two once these new execs run it into the ground so to speak.

One's ex-disney say no more..

Exactly the fact Disney just had to remove Chapek and bring Iger back out of retirement is big!

Chapek took over from Iger with Disney at the height of their value and profits and ran them into the ground, alot of that was his great idea to make the Disney parks a **** load more expensive which tanked the parks and let’s not go into all his social justice pandering BS.

Just because you’ve worked for Disney doesn’t mean your good at anything other than asking for more and more money.

Let's not forget that at the same time as raising prices he also significantly reduced the quality of the product whilst simultaneously removing on-site benefits and adding a ton of up charges.

I used to be a regular visitor to WDW and semi-regular visitor to DLR. I haven't been to either since 2019 and no plans to return anytime soon, despite spending two weeks in Orlando last April and having a ten day trip booked for next month. The product isn't worth what they're charging and Universal Orlando is a much better experience all round.

Some uncanny similarities there to the direction Stern seem to be going in with this release.

Not a chance. He is retiring

He will be like Jack at Jersey jack - a mascot.

This also could of been Gary Sterns last stand. Keep in mind new people on that level dont change overnight. They shadow people for quite a while. Gary will be staying on for xx months as a consultant. I bet he has also enjoyed a big payout.

Two of my sisters work for Disney. You'd be amazed to what went on there . . . . suffice to say the hierarchy are far from confident they'll turn things around.

Go woke, go broke..

Well Chapek was only really interested in profits. He dared to suggest that Disney needed to focus on entertainment first because it was more profitable than overly PC influenced content.

There was a massive backlash from the staff and his position became untenable.

I went at the end of October last year, after going every single year from 2015 - 2019. Prices up dramatically (Exchane rate didnt help), Genie+ means you spend a massive chunk of your day glued to a phone screen, and dont get to walk about like you used to, taking in the sites. Prices through the roof both in and out the parks (they recon food costs have gone up 20% - however in personal experience try 80% out of the parks, and 140% inside - 590ml bottle of Coke - that'll be $6 please!).

Coupled with plain Rude Americans who seem to have caught the "entitled" bug (Yes, there are an ever increasing number in this country too!!) and also the £ vs $ kicking us in the teeth.. It was really an unpleasant experience.

To be fair, whilst it wasnt as bad, Universal werent much better....

I wont be going back until either the exchange rate makes a massive adjustment, or disney/universal stop pricing themselves out of the market. Interestingly it doesnt seem to stop people going... parks are all still rammed to capacity.
Sounds just like Stern and their prices...

It was actually Paycheck... sorry.. Chapek "cooking the books" to make Disney+ not look like it had lost so much money...

It now appears that Bob Chapek may have attempted to make Disney+ look more profitable than it really was. According to the Wall Street Journal, it appears that Disney+ originals such as “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.” were originally aired on Disney Channel and fellow networks.

It is suggested that a debut on other networks would not count against the marketing budget of Disney+. This could allow Disney+ to appear more profitable than it actually was while still offering “original content.” According to Chief Financial Officer, Christine McCarthy, she was “concerned about this strategy.”

Bold claims were made by Bob Chapek that the Disney+ bundle (Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+) would be profitable by 2024. According to the LA Times Disney, “reported an operating loss of nearly $1.5 billion, more than doubling its loss of $630 million during the same quarter a year earlier.”
Saying that, His predicessor and now CFO again Bob Iger is no angel. Here's an interesting listen for those interested by the WSJ...

Thank you for the review :D I had naively thought 'if I go to America and take my boys, I have to take them to Disney because it's the family thing you just do with kids'...

That sounds grim, and I think I can find much more interesting/suitable things to do in a very large country with a six year old and a two year old, especially as the Flipper Beast (the six year old) is autistic and has issues with large crowds...

Sorry to hear you had a bad time - Genie+ is probably the single biggest thing that is stopping us from going back outside of the ever increasing costs. I priced up a trip a little while ago which was identical to a trip we took in 2017 or 2018, and it came out almost 4x as expensive for just the hotel and park tickets… and that’s without taking into account the food and the up charges! It just doesn’t feel like there is any value there at all, especially given similar feedback I’ve heard re the park experience at the moment.

We have Universal Orlando annual passes and always stay at one of the three hotels that offer unlimited express - although I have noticed that the prices for those seem to have risen a fair bit since we booked both last years trip and this years trip. They do offer decent pass holder discounts sometimes, and as we always go in the off season I’ve never paid more than it would cost to stay at a Disney moderate resort, and sometimes less than a Value resort. I think having the unlimited express pass really changes things - you can relax and drop in and out of the parks as you like. I also hate having to book dining six months in advance at WDW, whereas at Universal we just decide what we feel like on the day. Hopefully I still feel as positive about Universal after our trip next month.

Twenty years ago I would have said you must, and ten years ago I would have said you should. Now, it just isn’t the same. However - if you ever end up in Japan, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are the best Disney parks worldwide. Much better value, much better product, much better upkeep, and much politer guests. The main difference is that they aren’t owned or run by Disney! We’re hoping to get back out there in the next few years.
