My flashforge gave way to a Prusa, and that recently gave way to a Bambu P1S with AMS.

I have asked before and will again, what are the current PFA filaments and where do you source from?

But what other filaments are people use and enjoying. @SeikoKid is keen to show me the value of TPU and some carbon fibre infused material he is using.
 
I have the same Bambu set up as you, and have been using lots of bambu and sunlu pla also have petg but not used yet
 
I know Bambu gets good reviews but I'm sticking with the Prusa environment. Never come across PFA filaments for sale or generally referenced in 3d print sites I use but see it's like PTFE....so what application do you want to print this for? Plenty of experience using TPU, PETG and PLA variants.
 
The automatic media selection allowing the expansion of printing in multiple colours sold me on the bambu. My mk3 could be modified but the price point was a little high.

I am printing loads of stuff, and learning with each project. So now looking at what else I can push myself on.
 
if you got a carbon or P1 take a look at this build plate, has been brilliant for PLA and PETG. beats the stock bambu and texture plate by a mile.


Think bambu have something similar now called supertack, but if printing lots of smaller parts or larger flat things then the adhesion make a huge difference to reliability.
 
TPU is great for things like gaskets, seals and belts.

TPU belt i printed for FT is still working great after several months.

All the reports I've read of that is do not use with PETG as you'll never get your build off without ruining the plate

I've never had an issue with the build plate not adhering - you just need to clean it occasionally. I have literally printed non stop for over 2 weeks and only just started to get adhesion issues.
Also had no issues with the holographic style plates which give an interesting look - but only of any real impact if you have a large flat bottom - ooh err missus

Most of my printing is pla and occasionally abs.
Can't get petg to stick to the bed but no fussed since pla has served me well (will get around to tryi5petg for support interface)
Almost all bambu filament since I got the P1.
Though I did get some esun recent..dual coloured stuff. The bambu toll of that which I have keeps jamming the extruder
 
dont think i tried it with petg, but i been printing allot of smaller parts for work that had a pause at a certain point for me to put a washer in and was getting adhesion issues with the textured plate where some would come loose which meant binning the whole print.

EDIT: these little plastic plates are £400 a bag of 100 to buy the off the shelf ones!!. shame i dont use as many of them as i used to but the printer is slowly paying for its self just by printing these :)

I've not really needed multiple colours or different filament types in a single print so not bought into this functionality yet. But I want more build plate area so will get a Prusa XL which will also give me the option of having 5 loaded print heads. Yes, more expensive than Bambu or Creality but I feel much more comfortable with the Prusa product proposition. Stock Prusa build plates (PEI and Satin Powder Coated Sheet) give excellent bed adhesion. Very rare to get any warping and only when maxing out the full bed area. But easily prevented with a bit of 3DLAC spray beforehand.
 
The other thing the AMS does is let it switch to another roll when when runs out. Most new printers have a runout anyway I think - but with the ams, load 2 rolls of white and check the box and off it goes.
 
Yes, that sounds useful although I rarely run through 'remnants' unless I'm around to change filament. I'm guessing the Prusa XL should in theory be able to do similar by switching to another print head loaded with matching filament.
 
Yes, that's a nuisance but can't recall having that on brands I use. Just emptied a roll of ELEGOO Rapid PLA+ (very good filament imho) which wasn't taped.

I don't really use remnants either but long prints and all that.
I've probably ended up use it for multi colour more. (Which is so wasteful but it's just simpler to print some stuff in colour than paint it. And of course I have a number of models I've not got around to paint yet 😁)

I'm sure the prusa and others can do the same
