Never got the TZ thing. Think I'll have to buy one at some time to see if I'm missing out but ever time I play one it just feels - mahh. Suspect it would be far better in a home environment but there again aren't they all?
 
I know I've said it before but i detest TZ. Makes me feel sick just working on one. Yet i can understand why people rate it, but it just doesn't do it for me.

Wow, exactly the same story here! I was a big fan of the TV series and love the theme. I so much wanted to like it but I can't stand playing it?

But that's just it. The problem is not that I find it hard or that I don't know what I am doing! I have put up some monster scores on it over the years and been LITZ many, many times. I just do not find playing it fun any more. I never want to play it! It sucks the life out of me. I think it might be possessed.

I used to love it. Certainly enough to spend a fortune acquiring another one. But I am just not feeling it this time round.

I can't quite explain it. But I'll give it a go anyway!

Lets use Funhouse for an example. When I play FH, all I am thinking about is getting that sadistic son of a bitch to sleep so that I can have a jolly round his funhouse after closing time. Just to **** him off! I am into the game and focused like a laserbeam! :rolleyes:
But when I play TZ and I have just started, oh.... let's say Powerball Multiball, I am trying to get up to fight the Power but I am thinking about what I might fancy for dinner a week next Wednesday. Or how expensive Parmesan cheese has become.

I just cannot get into it. It numbs me!
 
WOW. This talk could be considered treasonable in certain company... could this be renamed the TZ bashing thread instead? Feels a bit like wandering into a Sheff Wednesday pub with a Sheff Utd shirt on... (or Man city/utd - whatever).

I think it's great! The more i play the more i like - and i don't follow the 3-4 shots methodology.

But then i only have the one working game right now and little else to compare it with. Nor do i have the accumulated decades of playing experience of those posting above me.

Ah, ha... whole different kettle of fish... :rolleyes: I tend to call it game fatigue for lack of another/better term. :hmm:

This is where you've played it so much and know it so well that... well you've been there, done that and got several Tee-Shirts! Effectively played it to death. Then the game isn't (to you) what it once was (it's also a reason why many people don't miss games they sell on). So you bought another hoping to resurrect what you once had. :eek: Except you've moved on and now you've realised it was a mistake... :oops:
 
Sold mine a few months ago, and I'm starting to miss playing it now. TZ is a precise game where you need to plan your way of playing through it to get the scoring opportunities to line up for maximum points and extra balls. It's not just about getting to LITZ!

Well........ FFS. I was just taking some pics of this to throw up a for sale or trade ad and now I am having second thoughts. :rolleyes: :mad::mad::mad:
This machine drives me nuts. o_O
 
Wow, great to see others who don't enjoy TZ.

I guess my hatred was due to never actually being able to play a working one! Back in the day, even new, they were all broken :P
 
So am I the only one who loves the Zone ? :hmm: Weird .....but to be honest I've always found more people seem to dislike it then like ...which is odd considering its status in the pin world.

FTR record I fell in love with it playing it in the wild when it first come out, and yes prob didn't know half of what the hell was going on but the machine just 'spoke' to me :cool: I liked the 'mystery'/ WTF ??? element to it. And the epic 'Jackpot' display and callout always got people looking in the arcade with the sound cranked up :D

Dude - you know you liked the game before. I'd say give it a chance - you spent money and time getting it , just let it 'bed in' ..........if you still feel the same in a couple of months then yeah move it on.

You are probably right Dude. I just spend a couple of hours cleaning her up. Love it or hate it I think we would all have to agree that it is a great looking machine.
