"Hello mate, my sister has my pinball in her garage for about 10 years.... called Pinbot.... I want to get it restored as I hear they are valuable"
"Well - if you believe home leisure direct, they are £6K but in reality a working one is probably £2K"
"Oh, can it be fixed?"
"Anything can be fixed but depends on budget"'
"Okay, my sister will be around on saturday can you meet her?"
"Yes no problem...."
Today 2pm - luckily I drove a whopping 3 miles so not really an issue.... saw this, I am now talking to his sister.
"Just sold the flat so the garage has been cleared, the guys who did it said it had slight rot"
She opens door....
"Holy duck"
"Is it bad? How much to restore?"
"I would charge you to remove it"
"Oh, is it really that bad"
Manages to remove glass to check playfield, warped like mad..... and not in great condition:
"Erm..... yes....."
"Someone came out to look at it over 10 years ago, and he never came back. The displays stopped working"
MIRACULOUSLY - the boardset LOOKS okay but could not remove the boards as the screws are rusted in.
So I took rotted backbox
No battery acid leak.
I agreed to take the backbox metal sheet with the boardset on, and make an offer once I can see the backside of the board.
