The "Today I received" Thread

Got this today and drilled the coin door lock out, key for backbox was inside.
Was on the 3rd floor and my back is really hurting now, bloody heavy!

I have just started playing this in Pinball arcade. The theme does nothing for me but I didn't realise how good a game it is. A great layout with the wire form ramp and the cannon doesn't seem as irritating as Acdc or t2.

Do you mind me asking what they are worth?

Couple on eBay £3k to £4.5k but I paid much less. Took a risk and paid off.
Never been into Star Trek but this pinball just works. Only had a few games, not bad at all.

Sttng 2.2k upwards depending on the usual laws of condition.

I dont see it being a 3k+ title - loads around, and it historically has always been a good bang for your buck title .... If you like the game, I personally couldn't get rid of mine fast enough [emoji16]

Love building these things and upgrading them with all the cool hop-up options available. Then me and my daughter go to town on the body shell/custom paint job/stickers etc :)

Gott some proper ball races. plus i have oil filled aluminium shocks (green), sports motor and some other chassis upgrade parts coming.

Its all about the building of them for me. Once its all done, we'll most likely sell it and start again :)

I used to race a lot of Radio control vehicles, got into Outlaw Trucks, was great fun :D Killed off by the banking crisis though. Most of the folks who raced just threw the towel in as they couldn't afford it, and that was a seriously cheap hobby! I ran a tournament for 5 years.

Very cool!. I am looking forward for my little man to be old enough to play with these. As a kid my mate had a "midnight pumpkin" RC car. I always wanted the monster beetle version but parents could not afford and I had no chance on my pocket money

You still got your old cars neil
Used to race a fair bit regionally battery though miss my old traxas trx1

sadly not. When I moved house last I gave the lot away to one of my racing buddies. otherwise it would have all gone in the skip.

Enjoyed it but it a lot but the politics of running race meetings ****ed me off. the BRCA were total asshats stuck in the past.

LOL yeah I was thinking that as I wrote it!

I ended up splitting from the BRCA and setting up UKTruggyPro and we ran the biggest events in UK Radio control at the time, online registration, new technology, proper outlaw rules, i.e. anything goes engine wise. It wasn't meant to be overly serious but we had a blast.

I changed jobs and just couldn't keep doing it. So re-united the class with the BRCA and handed it over to some good guys. They have round 1 at Herts Model club in April, if you want to learn about engineering and building stuff its a fantastic hobby. I sucked at that as much as I sucked at playing pinball too :D

Neil.

WhirlWind A new arrival finally set up and looked at today.

Plays but has one or two quick fixes needed (drop target opto to replace & loose shooter lane gate needs securing).
I’ve played this on my VPin to get a feel for it and now I’ve had a couple of games on the real deal (albeit with the aforementioned dodgy single drop target gimping the gameplay) it’s a blast especially as the fan is a way cool gimmick on a pin.

I plan to do a quick mini shop, fix any problems that arise in the process then Clean & Wax so I can decide whether it’s a keeper in need of TLC or a player pin to move on at a later date.

Overall impressions are I’m really happy with its condition and I love a dirty old pinball me.

The one thing that really ****es me off is when some ****hole in this case with initials K.B. scratch there name into a pin like this but luckily for me it’s only the glass which is an easy fix. One can only hope Karma does it’s magic and some facker returns the favour on his next new car and the bloke is called Charles Ulysses Nelson Thompson ?

If anyone has any plastics or spares for a WW I have a vast array of stuff that may be of use in a swap scenario especially a mountain of FH stuff as my FH has now gone to pastures new

Whilst it is pain in the **** a new sheet of glass is easy enough. Give me a shout if going through leeds/m1 j40. I’ll give you a sheet, got some spare without any carvings!

Thanks for your kind offer m8 but I’ve got something passable in the stack of oldies in the shed. I’ve also found a local company that does 6mm toughened and rounded under £30

damn...... i have never gotten vandalism... even as a teenager, and I was certainly not perfect, but vandalism is a real dick move... I get theft - not that i condone it... but not vandalism.

I know it's not really a virtual pinball forum but Today my zebsboard plunger and nudge device arrived from Canada along with my leaf switches and cable. Sadly will be a month before I get to do it.

Then my digital pinball will have proper nudge and plunger
