The "How much is this table worth" thread....

What’s the Airborne on EBay probably worth? Looks a bit of a unique layout- are boards, flipper mechs etc unobtainable if this goes wrong?
Yeah, I fancied it when it was a private sale on FB at £2k. Good game, but the rarity of parts put me off. £3k flipped still probably ok if it’s a keeper.

Capcom Airborne, great fun game , I paid around 2k a while ago for mine and had to source it from Holland.
I’d say it’s worth £2.6 to £3.2 depends on condition, parts are scarce for theses but there are a few out there and boards can be repaired. Very reliable machines Capcom and very well built. Pretty rare to see an Airborne come up for sale when I wanted one I couldn’t fine one that’s why I bought one from overseas. I’d say the £3k asking price is fair and still has some meat on the bone.
Big fan of Capcom pinball machines, I have four and would love a Kingpin.

Capcom games really well built.. I was also
Interested in the Airborne at £2K one point Facebook but was pipped at the post.

Boards are getting harder to source now, Pinballspares in AUS did have a lot of Capcom parts.

Also has a SW the pin / home edition- looks decent but over priced by about £500 maybe if it hasn’t shifted by now

He was harleycoast10 on here got banned for threatening to use solicitors for being called out for flipping games, about 4 years ago there's a thread on here
He sounds like an identikit Harry Bolt, that was his method too. 13 people as I recall that he fleeced with pin sales, plus no doubt more on the arcade cab scene. During my years away from the hobby, his gf actually phoned me to apologise for sticking up for the little pri_ck, said she now saw my point (she had previous phoned me several times in boyo’s defence, denying that he had any sociopathic or untrustworthy tendencies). I hope she moved on.

We need a rogues gallery. I just searched up that harleycoast person (Peter Hardman as I now know) as I thought it might be the little HB gremlin. There’s been three people mentioned in the last week - Reeds of Blackpool, that Williams Amusements lot, now this harleycoast character. Gaping anu_ses the lot of them.

I thought Peter Hardman was on the avoid list too. Not sure if that was purely due to overpricing or dodgy sales though, but definitely remember being told to avoid at one point.
Think it was just the flipping for more money issue with him as opposed to anything else , unless someone knows otherwise

He just flipped a game off here. Gets shot to fuk. Most folk on here are secret lemonade flippers. Double stds. Just playing gods advocate.
More of a problem during the covid bubble, any pinball was bought and flipped made getting hold of any pinball very tough. There seems to be no shortage or new or second hand pinballs now. Any pinball listed overpriced will sit unsold. Buyer beware.

On the other side, anyone whose business is sourcing pinballs, fixing up and selling to new comers (with support) will be very tough at the moment. Without support to end users it will end in tears.

I think the wipe with an oily rag type traders will always attract criticism. But when it’s their job, they need to make money.

There will be some on here that do up pinballs as a hobby but look to recoup some of the costs involved. Value has been added after all.

There will be some who always sell for less than they bought for. This keeps the hobby alive and surely where bad feelings are harboured, when a saving gets passed on to someone making a profit?

Value is seen differently by everyone, and multiple opinions and viewpoints is healthy. It also creates friction and in high pressure situations that’s where fire starts…

Whats a players condition Fathom worth these days? I've maintained it during my ownership but have never refurbished it. Has some areas of playfield wear, which a previous owner has undercoated in grey. See pics. The cabinet is in original condition with wear and tear that you might expect. Fitted with an Alltek CPU. Backglass is pretty good, but shows areas of bubbling when viewed from the front but this is not severe, from the back the paintwork is firm and stable. All plays well, and all features working. Speech working.

This is the condition of that Fathom for reference :-

One for the more discerning gentlemen or lady.

I honestly don't have a Scooby.

Lights fire up but no other power.

Single player EM + obscure Spanish manufacturer = extremely niche market. Maybe £600 or so non-working IMO but there might be some specialist collectors who’d pay more.

Hard to accurately tell condition but from that picture the backglass and cabinet seem in reasonable condition for a 50 year old machine. How is the playfield?

Would be more marketable if you can get it working. I can see the machine is showing TILT, if nothing happens when the start button is pressed I’d guess that the ball count step up unit (normally in the head, but I can’t find a schematic for this machine) needs some attention and that once that’s cleaned up and moving freely you’d have a better chance of the reset sequence starting cleanly. Of course there could be myriad other issues, score reels might need adjusting etc. but that would be where I’d be looking first after reseating any Jones plugs.

Thanks mate, I appreciate the advice.

Playfield looks okay for the age but I'll give it a miss I think.

By the time I've sorted collection etc it's not worth it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply,.Screenshot_20250206-174540.webp

@Gonzo if you were thinking about buying that then I wouldn't want to be paying more than £300 in it's unknown state  Recel made some cool EM's (Underwater is awesome) but never played that one before.
