The eBay Auctions / Facebook / Gumtree / Shpock 2024 thread

I have said this before but to re-assure after the above shilling comments, I've bought 2 pins from this guy - definitely not the sort that wil shill bid. He's a genuinely nice guy that has an awesome collection of machines - collecting for decades. I asked him how many he had and his response was that at the max it was nearly 200. And most of his stuff was bought new or is Premium or LE. I would not hesitate to buy a third pin from him and hopefully will win one of his next auctions. 100% not a shill bid scenario though!

I completely agree with Jason John is the perfect seller he’s a true collector not a pinball flipper - bid with confidence that his pins are beautiful and well looked after

Agreed, Brian. Maybe the bidders have worked out that ebay isn't a traditional auction and there is no point bidding until the dying seconds. This will probably go to somebody that hasn't yet placed and bid and I would be really surprised if it sells at any less than £6k.

On the fence on this one. With all the bidders (current) top bids exposed might only goto to £4.5k.

For what it is worth the high bidder was Lee Riley who for some reason changed his mind very late on. The next bidder then pulled his since he had comitted to buying another machine. So you can see the snowball effect. I have dealt with Lee in the past an he is usually ok but then again he once pulled out of deal for my Pirates of the Carribean.........after i had spent hours packing it and booking Hadfields to collect !

So it's your auction John?

It wasn't obvious that's why I was asking as you knew who the high bidder was.

Blow me there’s a bargain Bad Cats on eBay for less than £2k, don’t they know this is a rare game worth at least £6k? ( to clarify it’s allegedly a poor excuse for a pinball worth nothing like)

The 6 grand Bad Cats is all the way down to £5.5k now 🤣

Strange that it's not sold, I thought they needed it gone quick as they have been "moving house next month" for the last year 🤣

There's a decent looking Flash Gordon on FB for 1800
It's been around a couple of times on ebay with no bids at £1800.

Playfield is rough and the backbox has been spray painted badly.

I've been thinking about it, but I think its a bit too much for the condition as it's one that your might as well put a new playfield in and re-do the whole cab if you are going to want to make it nice

yeah the playfield is in bad shape. Definitely a candidate for a new one.
What’s a nice FG, £2.5k? Fully restored 3 something?
I think it will hang around for a while unless they start taking offer.

My fully restored FG cost me 6. The last nice FG, but not fully restored (original playfield) sold on here for 4.5 in September

This conversation is now all irrelevant as someone has bid on it on ebay 🤣

So apparently relisting the machine at the same price does eventually pay off 🤣

The other playfield is also worn, not as bad as the one that's in the machine, but would you really put all the hours in to fit a better but worn playfield rather than a new one ?
You’re quite right but I’d get the spare playfield sorted by my granddaughters talented friend. Get the local spray shop to lacquer it then install it.
Not that I’m gonna do this.
