The eBay Auctions / Facebook / Gumtree / Shpock 2024 thread

Yes, it was linked for our amusement by AlfonsoB last year. It could be argued there was nothing to lose re. the playfield; it was one of the odd ones with white lenses/inserts for the Special lamps on the ship and the outlanes.

It would probably look better with the playfield sanded back to bare wood than the current "Very Well Done" playfield touchups, it looks like it was done by a 5 year old, and a blind one at that.

Just noticed that the descriptions says new translite on the backglass, looks like its torn at the top of the Player 4 score and doesnt have the text on it for the Game Over Light, guessing will be the same for the player number and tilt etc.

Seeking further mirth, I've looked at the ebay listing, which shows the touch-up 'work' in progress. The r/h side (both, in fact) of the backbox seems to have gone badly awry; the ship has an engine (or what looks like one) on the front pylon, where the bridge/saucer section should be, and one engine pylon empty.

'Solenoid driver caps renewed' - a pity about one of these covering the warning about the display high voltage. Especially as the plastic cover for the Hv circuit heat sink (which is live) is missing.

It kind of looks right based on the images on IPDB but it should be going off the back of the backbox not stopping short and cut off.

The cabinet colours are also the wrong way round, should be yellow background, theres no way thats used the correct stencils, which Brian already mentioned. o_O

Bally TREK looked out of date by 1981
Bore fest nowadays.
Never had a working one and all had worn playfields so did its job for operators obviously

Note to trek fans. There are better trek games

Didn't realise it was that new - used to play it in a laundrette in Southampton '82/3 & thought it was really old even then.

I had to go see what you guys were talking about. Holy cr4p that's bad

I can't believe how wonky they've re-drawn it

It had a few things needed doing despite being described as Great working condition (maybe simple fixes) but this is the risk with eBay

Roughly what I payed for mine a couple of years back, so about right price wise I would say, what sort of issues did it have, looks nice enough from the pics

On Shadow the display wasn't rendering properly you could see that on the seller photographs plus @SteadyP told me there were a few minor issues like miniplayfield drop target wasnt resetting but we managed to diagnose that remotely as a switch issue so could have been switch wiring adjustment etc. Nothing major but where there is one issue like this there is probably more. Seller was helpful and I think he got a fair price for it but if I was the buyer I would be expecting to have a few faults to sort with it and spend a couple of hundred on parts.
